All my Firefox tabs disappeared – can I recover them?

I had a lot of tabs open in Firefox, and they always stayed there even after restarting my PC. But suddenly, all of my tabs disappeared, and I can’t recover them using “Recently Closed Tabs.” Can I get them back?

Hi,

Losing all your tabs can be frustrating! Here are some ways to try and recover them:

Check your session restore file

Close Firefox completely.

Navigate to your Firefox profile folder:

On Windows: C:\Users\<YourUser>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>\

On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>/

Look for files named recovery.jsonlz4, previous.jsonlz4, or upgrade.jsonlz4-<date> in the sessionstore-backups folder.

Copy one of these files to sessionstore.jsonlz4 in the main profile folder and restart Firefox.

Check Firefox History

Press Ctrl+H (Cmd+Shift+H on Mac) to open History.

You might be able to reopen important pages manually from there.

Hope this helps!!

You should be more clear—what worked for me was renaming the file directly to sessionstore.jsonlz4. There wasn’t any folder with that name (I don’t even have a sessionstore-backups folder), so I just put the file in the main profile folder, renamed it, and it worked fine. anyway it worked so thanks
