I only have one profile, the default one , I clicked something ; Firefox closed and when I opened it again I had to create a profile again , and everything I had, bookmarks history, was lost . How can I recover it , or go back to the first default profile, why is it even possible to exit firefox in any way and not be able to go back where you were.

Once again I have experienced that my Bookmarks disappeared. Some months ago, I had a HTML backup made, for easy Import. Now I started out by shutting down Firefox, followed by a restart. That worked last time (without import) This time it did no change. I shut down Firefox, and restarted the PC....... no change. (without import) Then I shut down Firefox and restarted the PC. Opened Firefox, and wanted to import the Bookmarks from the HTML file. The system comes up with a message stating that the file does not contain any bookmark references. ( Opening the HTML file using Firefox, reveals that all bookmarks are there, and can be used ) I uninstall Firefox, and re-install it . Flw. I try the import once again, using the HTML file...... to no avail. What am I missing here ?? My final option appears to be moving the bookmark one by one.. rather time consuming.

My desktop Dell windows11 lost History and bookmarks a few days ago and I asked for help yesterday afternoon and was successful in restoring them. when I turned on my PC this morning the History and bookmarks along with forefox browser were gone again.

I seem to have lost all of my bookmarks & i have tried to Import and backup / restore in manage bookmarks tab but all i get is a message "unable to process the backup file" plus when i tried to bookmark a web page by clicking on the Star bookmark icon nothing happens now for some reason. Was there an update as this only just started around 2 days ago

Tried everything Please help how to get back my bookmarks on Firefox on my Imac This sometimes happens when install overnight usually view..side bar...bookmarks works but not this time the toolbar bookmark shows empty????

Stupid mistakes were made - I reinstallted windows and when I opened firefox I realized, that I did not know my password and also was not sure about the mailadress. I finally found an account with my mailadress but reset the password - it said that all data in the account will be deleted if I do that.

I got the old files recovered, but everytime I copy paste the old key4, login and cert file... nothing changes withing the browser. If I copy the whole old profile folder and exchange it with the new one and then I open firefox it just says "profile could not be found" and then firefox closes.

Is there any chance of recovering my old saved passwords or did I screw up entirely ?

I continue to receive this message when I open the browser. Fix "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional" error message

I have attempted to correct this with the various workarounds to no avail.

My Bookmarks were missing and I had an error message so none of the topics you have listed seem appropriate. I found a 2 part fix on the internet (Part 1 - Open your profile folder and part 2 -Create a new data base). The result was removal of the error message and a few Bookmarks becoming available. Question is how to get the remaining Bookmarks?

Bookmarks seem to be missing from Firefox. I followed the advice up to part 2. That got rid of the error message but only a few Bookmarks were there. Is there any way I can get the rest of them back?

I want to import the book marks from one computer to another. I can't sync them. I made an HTML file as instructed with the first computer. Moved the files via USB to the second computer desktop. Opened Mange Bookmarks. Clicked Restore, then Choose file. Nothing happened. No new window opened. ?? Tried Import Bookmarks from HTML, still no new window opened. Tried the Import function in my account. I was able to import my passwords. But it said that the HTML file did not have any HTML data. ?? Also it does not allow use of a json file.

I seemed to have lost all my decades of bookmarks on my Mac Firefox browser. Initially i thought it was just the bookmarks toolbar ones, then i realised it was all historical ones as well.

If i select "Manage bookmarks", they are all gone If i then select "Restore" followed by "choose file" nothing happens, no option to select anything

If i click on the far left had "star icon" and try and search for a bookmark, nothing is there either.

The only extention i have enabled is the malewarebytes browser guard Not installed anything else I generally have a lot of tabs open and they all seem to have re-appeared after the last firefox update and unplanned powercut. My account logged in icon is showing, i can still see all my saved passwords etc.

Any help would be apreciated, there is literally over 15 years worth i've lost
