Why do I suddenly (from one day to another) receive the message: "Das Zertifikat für imap.gmail.com stammt nicht von einer vertrauenswürdigen Quelle."

when trying to downlowd messages from Gmail?

I have not changed anything at all.

I keep getting 30 to 40 messages in my junk folder every day that are not junk or spam. I keep moving them to my inbox folder but many of the same messages keep going to the junk folder.

I've been having a number of problems with Thunderbird recently and I'm hoping that deleting and reinstalling the app might help. But I worry that I will lose emails by doing this. I'm also wondering if the numerous folders I've set up will disappear as well. The issues I've been having, by the way, are emails consistently going into the wrong folder and, most recently, constantly being asked for my passwords. (I have emails from four email addresses being downloaded by Thunderbird.) I've had the password issue in years past, but it always seemed to resolve itself.

As of a few days ago, popup boxes have been appearing where Thunderbird is asking for passwords for my email addresses (I access emails from four different addresses with Thunderbird). Sometimes I will get the same popup box for a specific email address appearing several times over a few minutes. I reinstalled Thunderbird hoping that would help, but, while the popups are less frequent, they are still happening.

Also, while I have Thunderbird set up to check for new emails every 10 minutes and to download them automatically, it is only downloading emails when I shut down the program and restart it. "Get New Message For:" does not work. I know that new emails are not being automatically downloaded as I see that there are new ones at the website of my ISP.

Most of the solutions I have seen are not current, and reference settings I cannot find in my version. I have tried deleting and reentering the passwords by clicking on Saved Passwords in settings, but that did not help. Any suggestions?

Hello -- I'm hoping someone will be able to help!

I'm running Thunderbird 140.9.1esr (32-bit) on Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6466) with an Intel Core i7 processor.

Thunderbird suddenly started crashing repeatedly since yesterday. It ran long enough for me to install version 140.9.1esr, but still crashes repeatedly within a couple minutes of running the application, even if I don't do anything such as trying to reply to a message.

Please see below what I get in the Windows Event Viewer, pretty much the same for each crash. I have also pasted the contents of the following file (the others mentioned above don't exist).

I receive an email. When I reply it shows the correct outgoing email. But when the recipient replies back to me it shows sent from one of my other email accounts and his reply goes to that other email account.

I have tried to set up a table in Thunderbird but the column width is much too big.

How can I reduce the column width, please?

Thunderbird still syncs Gmail contacts even though I have no Gmail account in TB. I imported a Vcard into TB and deleted a couple contacts. Went back into Gmail contacts and had to restore them.

I am writing this message in regards to Thunderbird's GPG support after v68, in the last hope that someone suggests a solution that moves me away from version 68. I consider the current state broken.

My PGP keys reside on a Yubikey, but smartcard usage has been broken after v68, as none of the supposedly correct setups work. It should work pretty much out of the box, but it doesn't. The whole idea of moving away from Enigmail without having a properly, fully implemented support, including for smartcards, or at least for working with GPG, was utterly misguided, IMO, and broke the once nice client.

I enabled gpg usage and fetching in Settings, I imported my pubkeys to Thunderbird's PGP manager, then added my external key (with GPG). Everything looks fine. But when I click an encrypted message, I get "The secret key that is required to decrypt this message is not avaliable". Nah, it's available and it's there! The pinentry isn't appearing at all and this is the result. I believe this is TB's fault, as the pinentry correctly appears with everything else I do, also with TB 68 + Enigmail. The setup is the same. I am using the latest Gpg4win.

Settings:

mail.openpgp.allow_external_gnupg - true mail.openpgp.fetch_pubkeys_from_gnupg - true mail.openpgp.alternative_gpg_path - has no effect whether set or not

Hello, I was attempting to send a message to 44 recipients and got the attached error message. I then created a mailing list and attempted sending both as To: and a CC:, and got the same error. My understanding from searching the issue is that Thunderbird has a maximum of 60 recipients allowed, and my provider, northmail.ca, has a maximum of 250 recipients allowed. I cannot figure out what the problem is, or what I am missing. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm using Thunderbird 149.02 to make a local copy of all folders, messages and attachments on my yahoo mail account. I don't yet see an obvious way to issue a command to Thunderbird to accomplish this.

I'm using export.imap.mail.yahoo.com as the IMAP server as some of the folders have >10000 messages (none have >100000 messages, and there is no significant real-time email arriving to the account while I do this procedure.)

In settings/offline settings I have "automatically follow detected online state" and "download messages for offline use when going offline [yes].

In account settings/synchronization & storage I have Disk space: Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age"; "to recover disk space, old messages can be permanently deleted..." I have "Don't delete any messages" and "Always keep starred messages"

With these settings, I've tried (from the main menu) File -> Offline > Download/Sync now, then "Download and/or sync..." I have selected Mail Messages, and the Select button takes me to a table where I have selected the main account folder and all sub-folders.

With these settings, Thunderbird appears to go through some of the folders and downloads messages from, them, and after a while says there are no new messages (I don't have the specific text, but it ceases interacting with the server". If I repeat the Download/Sync now procedure, it appears to download more messages, will continue for a while, then stop in the same way.

When I compare the size of Thunderbird's local account folder, it appears to grow after each of these iterations, but is (after half dozen cycles through this) has only reached about 2/3 of the total stoage size reported by Yahoo. While I understand the storage mechanisms would differ significantly between yahoo and Thunderbird, I don't believe I've found a single sure-fire way to accomplish what I set out to do in the first place (which is get a complete copy, through IMAP, of all emails, folders and attachments.

What am I missing?

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.
