Copy/paste functions only work intermittently.
Windows 8; FF 26 -- not working: cut & paste -- not always. I've noticed that copy is greyed out on the edit menu so I can't even do it that way. I have to drag the selected text.
I don't have zone alarm or any of the other things other people have installed. Is there a solution to this yet?
Thank you.

You know what? -- I looked at my list of extensions -- there aren't that many and I thought which ones I'd had long before this started, and which ones I'd downloaded since the problem began. And there was only one, darn it, that fit the bill: Pinterest's "Pin It" button. Darn! It's really helpful, but disabling it seemed to do the trick.
I'll keep paying attention to it, and report back on if the fix stays. Do you think I should tell Pinterest?
Thanks again, for heading me in the right direction....

Hi lotusgreen!
Are you unable to copy/paste only in Firefox or is it the same for IE and Chrome?
Hi -- I only use Firefox! :^)
Ah okay.
It seems you've got a few extensions installed.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Aarg -- okay. I'll bite the bullet and give it a try. Thanks, and I'll report back.

Great! Glad you got that fixed! Please be sure to mark the solution that helped you by clicking Solves this problem on the right side of the reply.
If you have another question or problem with Firefox, do not hesitate to ask a new question by clicking Ask a New Question and do not post your new question in this thread.
Haha Pinterest is useful. I'm a user myself. No, the thing I would do if I were you is just keep a close eye on it and if it comes back, be sure to bookmark this thread by pressing CTRL + D and write to us instead of opening a new question
