Remembering login&password .. when the fix will be applied?
Problem: - very often mozilla firefox doesn't recal login & password however "checkbox" is ticked to remember it.
Severity: - annoying
Chosen solution
-> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> select Menu Bar and Navigation ToolBar -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmark on Cache -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Privacy -> History section -> Firefox will: select "Use custom settings for history" -> REMOVE Checkmark from "Permanent Private Browsing mode" -> place CHECKMARKS on:
1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> select "Exceptions..." button -> Click "Remove All Sites" at the bottom of "Exception - Cookies" window
4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> under "Keep Until" select "They Expire"
-> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
- Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.
- https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Private+Browsing
- In Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
- Do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
I do not use the private browsing :-( At home as well at the company I've beem working for. The same problem.
Try reinstalling Mozilla Firefox. That should do the trick. =D Oh ya, and backup your bookmarks. :P
Well I tried, even to change profile by Star\Run\ ... firefox -p or something like that (don't remember).
Anyway I will try do what you say .. again. Maybe clearing windows register and some garbage files (that always are left after uninstalling) will do the job... however as a person who works as a tester (not web apps) I know that there's a bug in firefox but noone want to repair it ... due to "low severity". I think it's fact ;-)

Yes, it helped.
I am grateful for you effort to write all the stuff. Now even after PC reboot I don't have to login again (of course I wasn't doing logout before turning PC off), on some pages it automatically fills login & password while earlier didn't.
Thank You !!!!!
best regard, Pieraś
