What does "Move new junk messages to" do?
This option can be found in the Junk Settings of each account. My issue is, that I have no option to disable junk filtering through my mail provider and therefore would like to move all messages that end up in my junk folder back into the inbox in thunderbird. Is this option suited for that? Or does "new junk messages" refer to junk messages detected by the thunderbird junk filter? I have adaptive junk mail controls disabled for all accounts. Currently, there is still mail entering the junk folder so I reckon the function does nothing right now.

It would move messages classified as Junk/Spam by Thunderbirds built-in junk mail controls to the folder designated as Junk for your account.

With Thunderbird adaptive junk mail controls disabled, junk messages in the Junk folder have been moved there by junk filtering carried out by your email provider on the server. In order to move them back to Inbox you may need to mark them as 'Not Junk' manually.
