High Contrast option post v140

more options

Since eclipse 140+ rolled out there is no longer a high contrast colour override, I dug through all the settings in case it was moved but I am either not seeing it or it's not there anymore. Does anyone have an option or work around for enabling high contrast without me having to roll back my version or install a different email client?

Chosen solution

I was reminded that we now obey OS settings' high contrast mode, and do not allow overrides in Thunderbird.

https://mzl.la/4mIMtKz lists recent contrast bugs. Does your issue match any of them?

No it doesn't look like it's listed in the bug list, previously under the settings -> general there was "fonts and colours" where you could set "default colour override". Now there is only "fonts" but no space that I can find that includes or allows for colour override (essentially allowing you to set a high contrast theme even when your overall system theme is NOT set to high contrast). TMK the option came out in v138 and has since been broken (or removed) in v140

(I have looked through the release information, various sites, and Reddit without luck, this is kinda my last ditch move)

ps. I forgot to include in my first post: OS - Windows 11 Home 24H2 Thunderbird version - 140.2.1esr (64-bit) desktop app System theme - Dark Mode Thunderbird theme - System theme - auto

That's a bit of an annoyance, especially because windows high contrast isn't great. I found a bit of a work around in Bug 1979848 that at least strips out message backgrounds which helps. Hopefully the missing "contrast control" that was supposed to replace "colour control" happens.

Thanks guys!
