We have got a warning from McAfee about an untrusted Thunderbird IP address: 173.82.235.59 Is it false positive or not? McAfee Total Protection updated itself after that in a strange way ('restart the McAfee UPDATE' - I restarted the whole pc...), so perhaps McAfee discovered already her own mistake?

Thunderbird runs on the PC and is not a cloud application, so there should be no IP addresses flagged. Did the problem reappear when you restarted McAfee? This has never been reported before, so my guess is there was a mistake in McAfee.
