Opening PCAP files in Wireshark

Good day. I use Firefox everyday to connect to network devices that produce PCAP files. These files are opened in Wireshark. I am running macOS Monterey 12.3.1. In the past, I was able to click on the pcap file in the browser and Firefox would launch Wireshark and open the file. It was very quick and saved me a bunch of time. However all of a sudden this stopped. It now asks me to download the file and then I need to go looking for it and doubleclick on it to open. I read a bunch of articles but none appear to work; for instance, there is no option to `open with` (as some articles claim) when the download dialog box pops up. I tried looking for the handlers.json file and tried these two options, none of which worked:

Tried this one first `"application/x-pcapfile":{"action":4,"extensions":["pcap"]}`

Then tried this one `"application/pcap-file":{"action":4,"extensions":["pcap"]},"application/x-pcapfile":{"action":4,"extensions":["pcap"]}`

All it did is reset the handlers.json and created a `handlers.json.corrupt`

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
