Hi,

I am trying to setup Thunderbird to use a Gmail account using my company's own domain. "Set Up Your Existing Email Address" fails despite Re-Test returning a successful probe message, a green tick with the following text: "The following settings were found by probing the given server".

When I click on Done I get the following error: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password".

My username and password are definitely correct.

My incoming settings are:

Protocol: IMAP Server: imap.gmail.com Port: 993 SSL: SSL/TLS Authentication: Normal Password Username: wyliehorn@bioscanuk.com

My outgoing settings are:

Protocol: SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com Port: 465 SSL: SSL/TLS Authentication: Normal Password Username: wyliehorn@bioscanuk.com

I'm stuck on how to fix this. Help appreciated.

Cheers,

Wylie

Chosen solution

The settings are correct, except the authentication should be OAuth2 for incoming and outgoing.

You may have to enable IMAP for a domain account:

That's fixed it! Many thanks for taking the trouble to answer my query. I'll spread the word to others in my company and to my IT support who failed to resolve this yesterday.

Cheers,
