Adressbook migration / export
You'd think it'd be obvious, with the export key and everything. All I want to do is export my address book from on Windows 10 Computer Thurderbird to another Windows 10 computer with Thunderbird. I'm asked to find the files to export with no clue where they are. It has to be easy, maybe I'm just dumb. It can't be more that 3 or 4 steps. If it's more I'm sure it'll make my head hurt and I'll get discouraged.
Chosen solution
Make sure Thunderbird is not running. Replace the abook.mab file and history.mab file with your copies. Restart Thunderbird.
These are the only address book files that can be directly copied. If you have other mab files, rename them as say abook.mab, move the contacts that they contain to a new address book defined in Thunderbird and then replace the original abook.mab.

The Personal address book is stored as a file named abook.mab while the Collected address book file is named history.mab. Both of them are stored in the Thunderbird profile folder. You can open the Thunderbird profile folder by going to the Help menu > Troubleshooting Information then click the Open Folder button. More information about Thunderbird's profile is available here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data It will do you good to know such things about Thunderbird. A wealth of information is available here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird/install-migrate-and-update and here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird
Your response let me find the file. It was on my K: drive. I tried to copy it to my C: drive desktop for importation but I can not find the file (history.mab) when I use "import" to search for it. . I can see it on the desktop but it has a little x in it says I'm out of room on my One Drive, whatever that is. I can't manuever the importer to get the file directly off the K: drive. Is there another way?
On the source computer, select the address book in Address Book, Tools/Export..., Save as type: LDIF. Press Alt if the Menu Bar with Tools is hidden. On the target computer, Tools/Import...Address books...Text file... select the LDIF file. Restart Address Book to see the imported contacts.
I can't get the programs to run on the "bad" drive I can just access the files, so Ican't export addressbook. I wish I could get rid of the pesky OneDrive that's screwing up my desptop on the new drive.
It seems you relocated your Desktop and personal data folders to OneDrive. If you're not going to pay for more space in OneDrive, then you should limit what get's stored in it. Follow the instructions here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/back-up-your-documents-pictures-and-desktop-folders-with-onedrive-d61a7930-a6fb-4b95-b28a-6552e77c3057?ui=en-us&rs=en-us&ad=us
OK, I finally solved the problem with the "OneDrive". I got rid of it. adbook and/or history MAB files in the new directory. I still doesn't work. It can't be this tough to reconstruct the adresss book when using a new computer. Maybe it is.
Open the profile folder on the target computer as explained above, then close TB. Copy abook.mab and history.mab from the source computer into the profile folder, overwriting the existing abook.mab and history.mab. Restart TB.
Rats. It sounded too good. Copied my OLD MAB's of the old TB from drive K: to my new drive C: desktop. Turned off drive K:. I renamed the present *.MAB's on drive C: to *.XXX. Copied the parked MAB's from the desktop to the profiles section of drive C:. Restarted Thunderbird. No luck. I haven't restarted the whole computer but that doesn't sound right.
