June 5, 2020 I too, have enjoyed The Case of the Missing Google Search Box, a Nancy Drew novel, I believe.

With Firefox open, click the Options, that upper right logically opaque set of stacked lines. In Options, choose Home.

On the Home page, Check the unchecked box, Firefox Home Content->Web Search
