One of the companies I freelance for send me appointments by email which have the date of the appointment and the start and finish time of the appointment. I would like these appointments to be automatically entered into the Thunderbird calendar. Is this possible? I have read somewhere that the Google calendar can sync with gmail accounts, but as I use Yahoo I don't think it will work for me.

No, you'll have to open the message with the invitation, and add it to your calendar with one click. If there are multiple calendars, Lightning matches the recipients email address with the email address assigned to the calendar. It doesn't matter whether the calendar(s) are local or network ones.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.
