PC crash on sleep mode exit after "invisible browser update", preferences, logons and addons removal.
Hi! This morning I put my PC to sleep to do my morning commute, arrive at school and boot the pc again. It crashes once. I restart it and launch Firefox. Firefox starts as vanilla Firefox (no saved logins, no bookmarks and no addons).
Is it possible for updates not to turn Firefox to vanilla Firefox as it's not the first time it has done this, but it's getting seriously irritating that all my saved logins are gone, all my school research (bookmarks) are gone, and all my addons too. (And no, I'm sure as hell not using Firefox Sync... I value my privacy).
Is it possible for you to remedy this ?
In the meantime I'll just deactivate all updates.
Have a nice day.

Something may have caused Firefox to refresh.
Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?

Hi thanks for the reply ! Sadly, I'd already checked for the Old Firefox folder on my desktop (not my first refresh either), so that was a bust !
When I went back to install my addons, most of them show up as legacy addons, i.e. Firefox updated...
So yeah, thanks anyway !
Legacy just means that in a future version, those add-ons will not work in Firefox. They will need to be rewritten or replaced.
Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar. How many profiles are listed? How many should be there?
There is only one profile : default I haven't created another so I guess it's the correct amount of profiles.
Sorry, but if it's gone, it's gone.
There was an add-on that auto creates backups of your profile. But it does not work in the current Firefox.
Every now and then, open the profile folder and create a copy of the current profile as is to another location on your hard drive. This way you will have a backup.
If you do this each day, you will not lose much data.
