cannot watch YouTube videos on FireFox but can on DuckDuckGo on IE

Windows 7 Home Premium Toshiba Sat. L-775 Service Pack 1 

I had a black, blank video screen and a white surrounding page on YouTube in FireFox. Kept downloading FlashPlayer and it would disappear after opening and installing. When looking in programs, it was no where to be found.  My husband kept downloading and found it. Updated Flash Player for FireFox. Downloaded HTML5. Then he got YouTube to work on IE with DuckDuckGo.  Using FireFox,  I have everything load on page but a new message on black viewing box. "Your browser does not recognize any of the video formats available. Click here to visit our frequently ask questions about HTML5 video." Still will not work in FireFox. Is there a "problem" with Google???

I don't like Google because they attach everything and everyone and store that data. Can't have an email on Android phone without them gathering everything and saving to my email and name. "1984" When my daughter text me other day after I had used the Google search app, It started "suggesting" names from her Phone on my suggestion box. That has never happened before. Now I can't get Google to stop on my phone. I saw where you had "hooked up" with Google. That disturbs me. If they tie everyone together, we could end up being "tied" to someone thru some distant person of "ill repute" that we don't know. Then someone comes knocking on our door wanting to "know " our connection to that person???????.........

We are loosing our RIGHTS so quickly to corporations and Elitist that care nothing about us or our children. We are "expendable". Do the right thing for all.....
