I realize its not easy to keep updating your program for the multiple updates firefox does but it is still the most used browser other than IE out there, should one not at least get a working copy of rapport for Firefox in less than 2 months?

I think we need to accept the fact that IBM / Trusteer considered this a low priority and does not attempt in a timely manner to keep its software compatible with Firefox.

If you have a bank recommending using Trusteer perhaps you should complain to that bank to explain Trusteer does not work with current and secure versions of Firefox so they are making you change your choice of browser.

You should always use a fully updated browser. If necessary and you consider the need to use Trusteer then whilst doing banking related browsing then use some alternative browser that Trusteer does support.

Many people will have third party Security Software including the AV & Firewall from MS that is generally provided free of charge, and of course Firefox has some built in features:

Note it is only a couple of weeks before Firefox will do another regular update.

That may well mean Trusteer will again fail to work with Firefox. Firefox will have major updates about every 6 weeks and that is well publicised, with pre release versions of Firefox being easily available to everyone. (I am posting this from Fx49.9 esr but I also have other versions installed including Fx55)
