You can try one of the following steps- 1. Close the firefox and all its instances. Restart firefox and update. 2. Or check for process related to firefox in task-manager and forefully close them all them restart brower and try updating. 3. Or try restarting computer them performing above steps. 4. Or you can unistall firefox and download the latest version and then install it. But don't forget to sync you firefox account to restore bookmarks, themes and extensions on next install.
