After refresh bookmarks reverted to prior date so not up-todate.

Chosen solution

Unfortunately, there's no way to restore history, but if you want to restore that bookmarks file, you can do that.

This wipes your existing bookmarks, so if you think you might need to "undo" the restoration, start with a Backup of your current set before using the Restore feature (the Choose File option at the bottom of the restore menu will let you navigate to the desktop to find that backup).

All necessary steps are in here: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer.

Hi jimde, how far back did it revert, if you can tell? For example, you could open the Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b) and add the Date Added column to the listing and click that column heading to see when the latest bookmark was added.

The Refresh function should create a folder on your Windows desktop named Old Firefox Data, and move your old settings folder (profile folder) inside it. Could you click into that folder and drill down to the bookmarkbackups folder and check the latest dated backup file? If it's quite old, that would be the problem. We may need to try something different.

Refresh bookmark history in bookmarkbackups files for 10/12/16 show 9/14/16 through 10/12/16 while prior refresh file 5/4/16 show 4/20/16 through 5/4/16. It looks like a bookmark gap from 5/4 thru 10/11/16.

Firefox only saves the last 10 or so backups, so it's normal to have a gap beyond that.

I'm not sure what date you're looking for. The file names contain a count of the number of bookmarks in the file. For example, 9999 in this file name:

bookmarks-2016-10-12_9999_gibberish==.jsonlz4

Can you tell which one you want to load?

Yes, it looks like bookmark-2016-10-11 1271 gibberish==jsonlz4 is the one that should have brought history forward.
