Since Firefox has been updated to release 10, it is not possible anymore to move the tabs, within the current window, or drag and drop outside of the window, what was creating a new window. Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
