A problem was created with the latest version of Thunderbird, 91.5.0 where attachments to e-mails no longer download to my desktop as defined in Preferences but download to some strange folder in the "private" folder on my computer.

As an experiment, what happens if you change the preference browser.download.folderList in Preferences/General/Indexing, Config. editor, to 1?
