Clearing Cache

I am unable to clear cache. 2.0MB of cache always remain after I go through the appropriate steps to clear cache. I have tried everything recommended by Mozilla and online. A few times the 2.0MB cleared on its own but then immediately reappeared. This problem started happening around six weeks ago. I checked the cache folder and nothing appears there but when Firefox is open it always shows 2.0MB of cache and it won't clear.

The 2 M might be the default size when empty. Is this causing an issue?

Location of the cache/cache2 folder; Windows: *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\ Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/ Linux: ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/

Close Firefox. Open your file browser to the above and remove the folder.

Where do you see this 2 MB reported ?

Thanks for your help. It is reported when I access Preferences/Privacy & Security/Cookies and Site Data.

When I hit "Clear Data" it shows 2.0 MB of Cached Web Content that will not clear.

This problem started around four weeks ago. Prior to that I could always clear to zero.

Occasionally, the 2.0 MB goes away on its own, and there is a smaller amount (KB) of cache that clears to zero, but the 2.0 MB comes back right away. This happened three or four times over recent weeks. Lately it consistently shows 2.0 MB of cache. I tried all the standard approaches including accessing the cache folder directly in Finder (which appears as empty).
