Why isn't sync working to bring my passwords & bookmarks to my new laptop?

Hi, I've seen a few users have this issue recently too. Maybe Mozilla needs to check this feature is functioning.

I have a new laptop and need my passwords and bookmarks from my old laptop (Mozilla Firefox).

As my old laptop's Firefox is associated with an account I logged in on the new one to sync the data.

Log in and confirmation by email went smoothly, however the sync didn't work. It says last synced today but I can't see the data, even after restarts.
