Cannot reset password for firefox sync.
I am unable to reset my password using the https://services.mozilla.com/reset-password/. It always comes back with the following error: "Incorrect words entered for captcha". I have tried using FF 3.6.4 and IE 8 and have tried multiple times.

same problem here.. any ideas?
Same issue with me.
Do you have 3rd party cookies enabled?
I am not sure. How do I check?
FIREFOX PLEASE READ! I have just installed windows 7 on my pc. Before I did I used sync to save all my passwords, bookmarks etc. Now with win 7 installed I try to log in to sync and it wont accept my password (which I know to be correct). I then attempt to reset my password but just get emailed a link which takes me back to the reset password request page.
People here are using your software and accepting your claims in good faith, and are being let down. I do not see much help being provided.
Can you please provide a solition to this problem. Thankyou.

Make sure you don't have 3rd party cookies disabled. Captchas rely on 3rd party cookies being enabled.
Same problem.
I checked that third party cookies are allowed, and noted that I have one from recaptcha.net.
Having third party cookies allowed has not resolved the problem.
FF 3.6.4 on Vista
I have the same problem. I check this page every hours with hope to see the answer.
I have the same problem and also have third party cookies enabled.
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
I see the exact same problematic behavior in Safe Mode. I've also tried Chrome, and see the same problematic behavior too. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the problem is with the back-end and not with the browser.
I have had this problem with a completely clean install of W7 and firefox. The only plugin being sync, cookies enabled blah blah blah. I HAVE THE SOLUTION.... don't use it. It obviously cannot be trusted to work correctly and therefore cannot be trusted with any sensitive information. There are way too many people on these forums who have lost all their info or who cannot log into sync. Just go back to whatever you did before you tried this unreliable plugin.
Same issue and I have tried to reset the password on three different PC's. I also followed the 3rd party cookie setup, which was already set. This is day 3 of the headache for me.
This appears to be a Mozilla site problem. Please fix it.
I am using Firefox and Windows 7.
New Mac, installed Firefox and Firefox Sync.
Unfortunately the password reset keeps you in an endless loop. You are given a permission link to reset, and then no chance to actually reset the password, only a new email with a new reset permission link.
Am now without any of my saved links. Please help!
I tried again today and i was able to reset the password. Nothing changed on my system. Just wanted to let people know in case they want to try it as well.
yeah guys, same issue here. cookies/etc all 'correct'. still no re-set or log on...really need to let people know before you count on this...
Why would this concern the browser. Hitting "reset password" leads to "Your password has been successfully reset. Please check your email for a link to complete the process." but no mail seems to arrive.
Hi,
The problem seems to be resolved with the 1.4 update. I can now sync to/from my Ubuntu and Vista machines.
Thanks for the update.
