Weird fonts Wing Dings??
I keep hitting sites where menus and selection boxes turn into unreadable Wing Dings? On W11 and cleared and rest the font cache in Windows and still repeatedly seeing the issue?

Yes, it does. :(
Does it still happen with default settings in a new browser profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile. Make sure you stay signed out of your sync account when testing.
It happens in multiple browsers, not just FF. It must be a Windows issue. I tried all the font cleanup and delete cache blah blah and it still happens.

Maybe try the System File Checker tool:
sfc /scannow
Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required), then we can check what fonts is used?
You can right-click and select "Inspect" to open the built-in Inspector with this element selected.
- https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/devtools-user/page_inspector/how_to/examine_and_edit_html/
You can check in the Rules tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font-family is used for selected text. You can check in the Fonts tab in the right panel in the Inspector what font is actually used because Firefox might be using a different font than specified by the website. If the Fonts tab is hidden, click the Down arrow at the right end.
On this site: https://www.storyblocks.com/ When I click where it says Video to choose Photos or Backgrounds etc. it just shows the Wing Dings?

Tried that. Also reinstalled all the system fonts. Did the registry edit. Deleted the font cache, etc etc etc
Press Ctrl+Shift+C > click the affected text > select the "Fonts" tab on the right side and see what the "Fonts used" reports.
A problem can be that the (autosuggest-dropdown) popup closes and disappears from the DOM as soon as you set focus to the Inspector. I can check the search bar in the lower part as it looks that the search bar in the top menu bar in your screenshot requires login. You may have to expand the all fonts section in the Fonts tab in the Inspector.

It is bizarre, but today the menu looks correct. Sorry, I forgot I had to be logged in to view the dropdown. But when I view it now, the wing dings are gone. No friggin clue.
Sometimes you need to close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer in case of weird issues.

Yeah, I had done all that as well as restoring base fonts and running the registry edit and deleting the font cache. I do have an inordinate amount of fonts on my system for design work. Probably well over 4K at this juncture.
