There are a bunch of search engines listed at the bottom along with web sites like amazon? How do I delete unwanted search engines in preferences?

If you go to the Firefox settings page, select Search on the left-side of the settings page. Scroll down to One-Click Search Engines, click the search engine you want to remove and press the Remove button.
