I had many work tabs open when I left the office yesterday. The update that occurred overnight closed and erased my current window, and now the "restore previous session" option is not available. These were collected over months, so the general 'history' page is not helpful in this instance. How can I restore my previous session and get all my open tabs back that I had yesterday?

There would be sessionstore backups, and perhaps even some update–specific. Their location is described in How to restore a browsing session from backup
