I have the boxes checked to clear cookies, cache, dowloads, and active logins when I close Firefox, but it does none of this. What can I do to fix the problem?

I have the boxes checked to clear cookies, cache, dowloads, and active logins when I close Firefox, but it does none of this. What can I do to fix the problem?

Does it work if you do that from the Tools menu?

Make sure that Firefox closes properly.
Try to use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.
