My provider is Earthlink but I don'u use it for mail. I use web mail.

When I receive an email from a gmail sender, and it contains pictures, only an empty frame appears for each picture. It seems that it only happens with gmail.

If that happens only with webmail from Gmail, I'd look to a support forum for Earthlink first to see if other Earthlink users are having that same problem. IMO, it's strange that it only happens with one webmail source and not others.

I have Gmail and Images from another Gmail user are not displayed. On some there is a red box, some have only a square, or a set of brackets [ ]'s that redirects me to Google search when I click on them, and on some there a cid.# but that only takes me to a type written page, No Image.

Regardless of anything I've tried, I have not been able to open any images.
This has been going on for months.
Then last month things seemed to work properly. The same emails came with visible images.
But now it's back to "No Images" again on selected emails.
Thanks in advance for any help. -D~T...

I did look to Earthlink for support and I stupidly allowed their tech support to take control of my computer. (No profiling intended here so don't imagine an offense when none is intended) BUT....... the tech support guy spoke with rapidly with a very strong accent and moved quickly, making changes to my system. When, after about 10 minutes, he stopped and said " we cannot help you. You must turn to Firefox for support.

Among other things he had loaded the google browser and enabled the toolbar.

He had changed settings and options and it took me days to get back to where I was. Earthlink and I will soon part company. My only other IP otion in this area is Cox. So, in the meantime, I just ignore the empty frames.
