Firefox "starts" but browser will not open on desktop

When I click to open Firefox min Windows 7, the program loads, i.e., I can see the window on the Aero Bar, but the browser will not open on my desktop. I have redone my profile and that seems to solve the problem for a while, but then the same problem reoccurs. This happened with four different profiles. When I do get the browser open on the desktop, I find a load of error messages in the error console.

Hello Joseph.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal? Safe mode will do it easy, if you can't hope Firefox.

Thank you very much for the reply. I only have two add-ons and plug-ins: Ad Block Plus and a Java ad-on. I eliminated the latter when creating the fifth profile and will do the former if things do not work out. Again, thank you!

You're welcome. You can use this thread if you need further help.

I have the same problem with Windows 7 x64. It was still working earlier this morning, but suddenly it does not show up on my desktop. Safe mode does not do the trick too. Please help.

Thank you.
