when writing email autocomplete addresses does not work

In 'Options', address autocomplete is switched on to look for matching entries in local address books.

I have 3 address books including 'Personal' and 'Collected addresses'

The contacts sidebar only shows the 'Personal address book' available in 'All address books'

When I search for an address that I know is in my Personal address book, it is not found.

Please help

Perform a test: Start Thunderbird in Safe Mode and see if the issue disappears. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

Works just fine in safe mode. I have permanently disabled all add-ons.
