Thunderbird configuration option list details
Could you please provide the list of option editable via Config Editor and details of the options function and default values? I would like to learn more on how to configure and maintain the configuration of Thunderbird. Are these options standard across Windows and Linux? Thanks in advance.

I don't think such a list exists. And of course it is made more complicated by the fact that many add-ons also use configuration options too, so we'd have to look to add-on authors to document their own additions to it.
I can't think of any obvious differences between Windows and Linux other than cases where you might store pathnames to resources. Ideally all such pathnames would be local and relative, but I have met some cases that need absolute pathnames, particularly if you want to share data between, say, Thunderbird and Firefox. The Clippings add-on comes to mind.
As an afterthought, the hard part is that if the default value built into Thunderbird is in use, you don't need a Config Editor entry. So after first setting up Thunderbird, the only things in the Config Editor would be the unique data you entered (your account settings) and any non-default settings you had selected. The vast majority of possible but as yet unchanged settings remains invisible. :-(
