Can you block or remove the social media bar on a website ?

Please help,I never use the social media bar. I don't understand twitter, never use facebook, don't have g+, pinterest or instagram account. How do I make it GO AWAY! It doesn't have the small arrow to close, and it's not even transparent, just annoying.

A step by step for dummies would be greatly appreciated. My question is the same as this one but I would like to point ou a specific site causing this problem. https://www.vlchelp.com/.

Thanx!!

Such a media bar is added via JavaScript, in this case from sumome.com You would have to block this script e.g. with NoScript.

I do see a '<<' button at the bottom of the bar to collapse this bar when I hover the media bar (it leaves a top'<<'), but it isn't there all the time.

If you just want to block scripts coming from one or two domains, this extension is easier to use:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ad.../yesscript/

If you use an anti-tracking extension such as Privacy Badger, Disconnect, or Ghostery, it might block these sharing buttons automatically. Sometimes they also block things you want, but I guess the question is how much of this do you want to outsource versus manage yourself?
