How do I change my local directory?

DavidGerboth

I am switching from Charter to Comcast. I get the following error message: "The local Directory path C:\users\dell user\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\nuxzz3yx.default is not suitable for message storage. Please choose another directory." How do I do this?

Do I consider all my past emails now lost in the process?

Chances are your past emails are not lost. Open the Troubleshooting Information. Help (Alt-H) - Troubleshooting Information - Profile Folder - Open Folder

This will open your current profile folder in Windows Explorer. Look for a folder 'Mail'. What subfolders do you see underneath 'Mail'? Is there one (or more) other than the one of your current Comcast account?
