firefox will open bookmarked pages only
After updating to Firefox 20, I can only open websites that I have bookmarked or that are in my history. If I enter a url manually or click on a link that would open in a new tab, nothing happens. I do not see any error messages, and I don't have any Add-ons installed. Even accessing about:config is not working.
I backed up my profile, and created a new profile with no success. I also tried restarting the computer, Reseting Firefox, performed a clean install and nothing seems to work.
This is on a domain computer running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Any ideas?

Business network environment issue:
Firefox 20.0 has a problem with configurations where your Windows profile is stored on a server using a UNC path (e.g., \\userdata\jscher2000). An emergency release of Firefox is in testing now and is expected to be released in a few days to fix this.
Until then, one workaround might be to choose a local folder for your personal Firefox settings, but that might not be allowed by your IT. Although it is less secure, if you urgently need Firefox, you could downgrade to Firefox 19.0.2. This article has a link under "I still want to downgrade": Install an older version of Firefox.
