Windows 11 Thunderbird 137.0.1

ARRRGGGH! I've been using Thunderbird for over 20 years and it's doing something new and BAD:

Every time I open it since yesterday, it keeps adding additional inboxes (7), drafts boxes (3), sent boxes (2) and junk boxes (6) and trash boxes (2). I don't know how to get rid of all of the extra folders. My profile is backed up, I just tried deleting the program and installing the latest version and it opened the profile (I thought it'd open a default profile and then I could reinstall the "real" profile). What's happening and how can I fix it? No, this does not have anything to do with multiple email accounts and I haven't added any new ones. Please help!

Yesterday Thunderbird worked just fine. This morning I tried to respond to several emails and got this error message: Sending of the message failed '"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: [VO=1] Message blocked due to spam content in the message. Please check the message and try again."

There was no spam in the person's email... just text.

Next I tried to send a freshly created email with just a YouTube video... then the last half of the error message said: An error occurred while sending: RBL restriction: Blacklisted by Internal Reputation Service - 195.181.168.179

What is going on??? The SMTP settings are correct: Port 587 STARTTLS Help!!

Send a simple emailtakes several secoounds from inside Thunderbird. If I send from the comcast website no problem.

have checked server settings etc. cannot find a solution

Permanent TB folders??

Initially, I deleted a subfolder no longer needed normally, but later noticed that when I restarted TB, the deleted subfolder would reappear..... every time. The subfolder was only used for manual temporary sorting of particular incoming emails. I delete it again, empty trash, gone. Restart TB again, subfolder back again. I played that game for quite a while but now the subfolder cannot be deleted at all. Highlight, delete, nope... nothing.... still right there. Not the most annoying thing in life..... my kids are all grown up now. There has to be a "reasonable" explanation for this curse. Any resolution appreciated.

Bonjour, Je viens de télécharger Thunderbird pour Mac. J'aimerais pouvoir importer un fichier mbox.

Pour cela, je souhaite ajouter l'extension "ImportExportTools NG", mais celui-ci ne peut pas être installé car "il n'est pas compatible avec Thunderbird 137.0." Et il n'y a pas d'extension plus actuelle.

Comment faire?

Recently I have started to have emails fail to deliver to a certain domain and the message that comes back is

550 DKIM Sender Invalid - envelope rejected.

I am using Thunderbird v128.8.1 esr (64-bit). Extensions installed are: 1. Attachment Saver (Deimios, v.0.2.2) 2. FileLink provider for Send (Teal Dulcet v2.1.1) 3. Remove Duplicate Messages (Eyal Rozenberg v0.6.1)

I have been in communication with this client for several years and not had this problem before. When I send email to the same recipients using WebMail there is no problem, it is only when I send from Thunderbird.

I am not using any encryption type of setup.

Has anyone come across this before? Does anyone know of a solution?

I need some advice on my Thunderbird email system. The problem(s) that I’m having are what’s frequently discussed with regard to Tbird “gulping” system drive storage, without frequent release.

I have been reading most of the narratives from this complaint, but the problem I’m having seems a lot different. So, I came here to explain my observation(s), in hopes I could correct this issue.

1. I am a long term Thunderbird POP3 user, since before the failures began related to signon security changes, before the Tbird corrections were employed(figuratively rewritten). I left Tbird during that time, and now I’m back. 2. So, like many others, my problem(s) arise from Tbird’s apparent failure to relinquish storage areas, when unused. 3. Right now, My W10 system drive(SSD) is setting at sitting at 122G. 4. It should be <100G, and it’s been as high as 13xG. 5. But, through some magic, something seems to happen during a inactive period, that will magically trip this storage to a more reasonable value. I have seen this 122G drop to 102G, but not in a very long time. 6. Beyond the fact that I’m stumped, I chose to write this narrative because my operations/experiences are significantly different from others I’ve read. 7. First, this is the only problem that I’m having with Tbird. Everything that I perform operates flawlessly. 8. And, probably even more noteworthy, is that I never maintain ANY email data inside Tbird. Barring absence, as soon as I determine email arrival, or any email changes, I simply move that email to a system repository for archival. As soon as this archival is complete, the email is deleted from it’s point of arrival. So, IOW, every time I close this system, Tbird will be completely empty of current mail. 9. Additionally, I initially configured ALL email storage repository to reside on another system removable drive. 10. Prior to this note, I issued the compact request. I did see a 3.0MB, but I’ve never seen anything above 0 MB before. 11. Additional attempts as solving this storage release problem, has warranted my purchase of a software product that will allow me to “look” into the internal storage of Tbird and several competitors, to send this hidden data to other repositories. It’s a long story, but I needed the product to migrate email data, where only Print PDF was avail- able. 12. But, it’s been very helpful in identifying Tbird internal email data that remains, despite the fact that I’d cleaned Tbird of everthing prior to my last review. 13. And, another issue is that all the email data that external email tool identifies, is deeply hidden from my standard Tbird client. The email data may be several/many days old, even though the related viewable email data had been archived/deleted several days earlier. 14. I mentioned that I have my email data re-positioned(#8) to external system repository drive for archival. This specification is issued in the “Local Directory” definition defined within each email target definition. From my long past experie- nces with Tbird, I learned that I could enter each of these “Local Directory” alternate repositories, and just simply erase them of ALL email data. 15. And, the next time Tbird was initialized, those “Local Directory” repositories would be rebuilt, clean. This will remove all email characteristics formerly present. And, the remote repositories(#11) will be built clean, and no latent email data will remain. However, this is probably unavailable for the 99.99% of users that maintain email on/in the Tbird system. 16. Tbird does, at some time, reorganize these repositories to regain wasted drive space. I don’t know/understand just what triggers this reorganization, and it never seems to “sync” the complete unused storage available. Right now, my system drive(SSD) was up to 122GB. Some time during my research, I noticed a drop to 111GB. But, if all empty data was reorganized, it would be <100GB. Of course, when I describe these system drive totals, I’m referencing the high limit of storage, including ALL installed software. (#5). 17. Hello! I am using the latest version of Thunderbird for an Android phone. I use Bluemail for my website. Here is the issue:

  • Installation of the Thunderbird client is good.
  • Establishing a connection to my Bluemail email account is good.
  • IMAP works great.
  • The issue is email can be sent, BUT the email does not reach the recipient. There are no errors in the Thunderbird app at all. Mail does not get delivered. I have tried several external recipient email accounts.

Now, the desktop app works great! So, the settings are the same.

Any thoughts?

Unread incoming messages are indicated by a little red dot within the Thunderbird logo icon in the Windows notification area. When operating with a Unified Inbox, opening those messages in the Unified folder does not always clear the red dot, nor does the unread message counter in the left pane always decrement properly. What it seems to take to reset things when this happens is to expand the Inbox tree and simply click on the account name associated with the unread message. Anyone else see this?

I used Eudora until they quite supporting it, and then in 9/2022 switched to Thunderbird. Long-time contributor Matt was very helpful in walking me though how to transition from Eudora to Thunderbird and then import the many Eudora folders and messages into T-bird under Local Folders. A few days ago I moved from my old Win10 computer to a new Win11 computer. Only the messages that were on the mail.earthlink.net server loaded into T-bird. I had been saving the more important new messages from T-bird to the Eudora folders (stupidly, as it turns out), but now they're not there. Is there a file on the old computer that I can save to flash drive and copy onto the new hard drive, to import the Eudora stuff? I seem to recall there was an mbox file...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We followed the instructions Encrypt emails with Thunderbird and GPG | Bacardi55's Web Cave and GPG Keys Management :: Fedora Docs which as I said results in my other system working as intended.

Could the non-working system be missing a package or a pointer set incorrectly? GPG and GPGME are installed. Keys are configured.

    Recently I came across this issue . When I send a email out from my mobile device thru Thunderbird  , I track the message and discovered that it was filtered . The Delivered To : /dev/null , Router : fightSpamHG , Transport : **bypassed** . And the message was not delivered to the indented recipients . But if I use a desktop PC and send out email via Outlook , it is perfectly received . Can I ask the community if anyone came across this issue and if there is any solutions ? Thank you !
