I have a problem. When watching videos on YouTube, especially in 4K, it starts to freeze, and the loading screen stays on indefinitely. The same thing happens when you fast-forward or rewind the video. Switching the video to 1440p or 1080p helps, but over time, even at 1080p, it starts to freeze. but if I switch back to 4K, everything works fine, but only temporarily or until I fast-forward it.

I can provide browser data files. I'll say right away that I've tried a lot of things, and even everything that ChatGPT recommended didn't help. I tried changing the about:config settings related to the video player and codecs.

The only thing that helped was installing a plugin (h264ify by erkserkserks) that disables av1, and in that case the video works fine, BUT only at 1080p, which doesn't suit me, as I would like to watch videos in high quality.

If I disable hardware acceleration so that videos are rendered on the processor, then everything works fine and everything runs smoothly, except that the processor is loaded at 60%. This may be a solution to the problem, but I would like to figure it out and solve it completely, rather than looking for a compromise.

All drivers and everything else are installed in the latest version (unless new ones have been released or it has not updated itself). All Visual C++ and Windows components are installed, I don't think there is a problem with them.

The problem only occurs in the Mozilla browser; there are no problems in any other browsers. I also noticed that on some websites where I watch movies, there is a problem with the video. Unlike YouTube, they load normally, but in dynamic scenes, the image breaks up, similar to the image breakup in games when vertical synchronization is turned off. That is, the video is divided into two parts, and one of them lags behind by a fraction of a second. I tried resetting the browser settings, but it didn't help. Everything works fine on my MacBook and in other browsers and devices, so it's not related to the internet.

Please help me figure this out and solve the problem because I've already tried everything, and I don't want to switch to another browser because I've been using Mozilla for over 15 years. Also, if you need any information or a detailed explanation, I can show you or even record a video. Everything worked fine on Windows 10 on the same system, but Windows 11 is not running as smoothly. (To clarify, this is a clean system; I did a complete clean install of Windows 11, although when I upgraded from 10 to 11, everything seemed to work fine).

I got a new PC and tried to import my Firefox bookmarks. But on the right side menu when you click bookmarks, it only show recent ones which actually aren't recent at all. How do you get that selection to show all of the bookmarks instead of recent?

Also I'm still getting a prompt underneath the address box to manage bookmarks and I can't get rid of it. How do I clear that out?

All of a sudden one day my bookmarks vanished. This is annoying, but what's worse is that I'm unable to add more. I click on the little star at the top to try to save a page, and nothing happens. I go into the sidebar, try to do it there, nothing happens. I click Command D (on a Mac) to try it through the shortcut and nothing happens. I've tried signing in under different log ins to see if that's the problem, but that doesn't work either. I'm totally confused. Any help is appreciated.

Hey, please fix this. After update to firefox 139 video player from youtube can't play. The setting video as low as possible, but still the same. I tried on other website work normally, I think the problem is the flash player, apparently not. Please fix this, ASAP.

When I go to view an already open tab it will sometimes randomly move it to the very end of my tabs all the way to the right. I don't want it to move tabs without my intervention. Clicking on a tab should keep it in place.

This has been an issue for about 2 months now. I'm not sure what's causing it or even if it's entirely a Firefox issue as I have noticed something similar happen in another program with tabs that I use often. It still seems like a Firefox issue in that moving a tab all the way to the end is a very specific task that can't normally be done accidentally.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening or has anyone figured it out?

I need help resolving an issue related to browser navigation and the popstate event.

Here's the scenario:

• The user starts on page-1.html.
• They click a button, which navigates to page-2.html.
• When the user presses the browser back button (without clicking any button on the page), I want to trigger a JavaScript popstate event automatically.

Currently, I'm doing the following:

• When the user arrives at page-2.html from page-1.html, I show a popup.
• When the user closes the popup, I manually push a state using history.pushState() to create a backward URL entry.

However, my client’s requirement is to trigger the popstate event without requiring any user interaction on page-2.html, i.e., as soon as the user presses the back button.

Is there a way to programmatically achieve this behavior (ensuring the popstate event is fired) without requiring the user to click anything on page-2.html?

Any guidance or recommended approach would be greatly appreciated.

Until recently Ctrl+Tab and Shift+Ctrl+Tab have work perfectly. Now they do not work at all. Ctrl+Page Up (and Down) works fine.

I have used safe mode, rebooted the computer, checked the general settings in Firefox and the problem persists. What can be done to resolve this?

Anywho, when using vertical tabs, the left side expand/collapse button lives underneath the close, minimize, full-screen OS buttons.

If I turn on "always use private surfing", can I not have shortcuts on my Firefox landing page?

I had six shortcuts on my landing page; however, I turned on "always be incognito", and my shortcuts disappeared, and I do not see an option to add them back.

Hello dear helpers, When I click on a webpage link (or right-click a link to open a tab in a container), Firefox repeatedly opens the same tab all across the tab line; maybe 20 or more of the same tab. I would be grateful for help if anyone knows how to solve this. Thanks, -AnneF

In particular, this is running Firefox 139.0.4 (64-bit) under Windows 10, and finding a huge file and activity here: C:\Users\Lab\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4wyhpro4.default\cache2\entries And, if I simply delete everything there, it seems like it regenerates fairly quickly, whether I've been using the browser or not. Sunday, I reset my laptop back to factory settings. I reloaded Firefox and now cannot access the second level on Intuit's training website as it loads as a picture not a web site. I tried using MS Edge and also Chrome to see if the issue was with Firefox, but all have the same issue. I white-lighted all of the Intuit domains in pop-ups in case that was the issue, which it is not.

I'm using NORD VPN and ESET for viruses.

Does anyone have any ideas?

First symptom: Lately, when I use Firefox on my desktop to attach a JPG or PNG screenshot to an online post, it shows up only as a black square. (The image looks normal while I'm creating the post, but it won't post - which I've confirmed by checking my feed on a different device.) This doesn't happen when I use the same version of Firefox (the latest one), also running Windows 10, on my laptop. It has nothing to do with the screenshot itself - the specific file or the file type; the same thing happens with anything I try to attach.

Second symptom: When I create a PDF with Firefox and then try to print it, a large rectangular portion at the top is blanked out, as if someone had placed a sheet of paper on top of it. This doesn't happen when I use Chrome to open and print the same document on the same computer.

My guess is that I've somehow changed one of the graphics or image settings in about:config, but I have no idea which one.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I created a tab group and saved it. After saving I confirmed it was inn the toolbar location. I used it this morning successfully. Just now I closed all my tabs in order to shut down. Doing so eliminated the tab group. It is no longer available from the toolbar. What happened?
