Dear Google Tech Support,

I have been getting email, supposedly from friends in Egypt, with no subject line, and a URL that when opened says, '"a friend sent you this". The first time I waited for it to open, it took me to a work-at-home site. I did not try to open subsequent email with no subject line, until this morning when I received one from a friend here in the US. This is the URL in the email I just received, http://rcphotography.co.za/pagnrk.html.

Please check to see what the problem is, who is doing this, and is my computer compromised. I only use gmail.

Mostly this is just your typical spam mail that comes to your inbox. I doubt your computer is compromised. However, you can take the following steps to make sure it is secure: First, update to Firefox 13.0.1. You are running a very old version of Firefox that does have security holes. Update Firefox to the latest release

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Download and Run TDSSKiller http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363

Download and Install Microsoft Security Essentials http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials (not an official endorsement, but I personally recommend MSE as an awesome permanent anti-virus)

Double check for all Windows Updates.

Then, change your Gmail password.
