Many of my pages are not loading at all, such as Amazon.com. However, they load fine in MS Edge. What is happening?

In Firefox, a lot of my pages are not loading at all...the tab just shows that the website page is loading but it never does. The menus of the website will appear, but pages are not loading. This is not happening in MS Edge. I prefer Firefox, but lately have had to go to MS Edge to load pages. What could be happening?

Kristina, if you open the same page in Private Window, is there any difference?

If your want to temporarily disable your AVG to see any change (or its "safe browsing" features) does it help?

Some maintenance steps to see if any of that changes the results:

  1. Remove some older caches by clearing Firefox cache.
  2. If it does not help, try clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website).
  3. If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. If the problem doesn't persist, please follow the steps from this article to troubleshoot further.
  4. If nothing from the above helps, try creating a new Firefox profile and check if the issue persists there. If it doesn't, you can start copying files from your old profile to the new one to identify which one causes the issue. See this article on what files to copy.
