Hello, I'm experiencing a very unusual problem with Mozilla Thunderbird. System information: - Operating system: Windows 11, version 24H2. - Thunderbird: Version 153.5.0 (32-bit), ESR channel. - Email accounts: POP and Hotmail (IMAP). Problem: Thunderbird works perfectly when reading emails, browsing folders, and composing messages. However, whenever I click the Send button, Thunderbird freezes and becomes unresponsive. The strange thing is that as soon as I minimize the Thunderbird window, the email is sent successfully. This happens consistently. Troubleshooting already performed: - Created a completely new Thunderbird profile. The problem persists. - Tested different email accounts (POP and IMAP). Same problem. - Tested Thunderbird in Troubleshoot Mode. - Disabled hardware acceleration. - Tested switching windows using Alt + Tab. - Disabled automatic spell checking. - Confirmed Windows Search indexing is disabled. - Checked that Windows operates normally outside Thunderbird. None of these steps resolved the issue. My original Thunderbird profile contains approximately 17.3 GB of important emails, so I would prefer to avoid deleting or rebuilding it. My question: Has anyone experienced this specific issue where Thunderbird only completes sending an email after minimizing its window? Could this be related to Windows 11 window management, accessibility features, or a Thunderbird bug? I would appreciate any suggestions that do not involve deleting my existing email data. I have three PCs running Windows 10 and one running Windows 11. All of them have Mozilla Thunderbird updated to version 148.0 (64-bit). For the past few months (I think it started with version 146.0), every time we send an email, the "Sending a message..." window appears and takes between 15 and 20 seconds to complete. We've tried many things, such as disabling the firewall and antivirus, but nothing has improved the situation. Previously, any message would send in less than 3 seconds.

Buenas tardes, Tenemos varios equipos usando Thunderbird desde hace bastantes años. eran W7 y ahora son W10. Usamos POP3 y están bien configuradas. La versión depende, pero son todas 140.10 ó 140.11. La carpeta con el correo no está en el equipo local, sino en una carpeta compartida del servidor de dominio (cada uno tiene la suya) con el fin de hacer las copias de seguridad. El servidor de dominio pasó de Server 2008 a un Server 2025 standard (en este caso en máquina virtual). El antivirus es Eset Endpoint Security y no indica ningún error. Esta configuración ha funcionado bien varios años. Desde hace un tiempo tras alguna actualización ha empezado a ir muy lento y cada vez que arrancamos thunderbird no aparece el inbox y hace la indexación de las carpetas, tardando bastante, mas de media hora incluso (algunos tienen dos o tres cuentas de correo). Una vez indexada, normalmente iba bastante bien siempre que no se cerrase el programa, pues volvía a hacerlo. Desde la semana pasada ha empezado a no funcionar en algunos equipos, al arrancar se queda congelado (no responde) y no hace ni la indexación. En otros casos funciona pero muy lento (minutos para abrir o enviar correos de texto con una pequeña firma). El informático nos indica que puede ser porque el programa está diseñado para trabajar en local y no en red. No ha visto nada raro en las actualizaciones, pero no sé si hay algo en concreto que comprobar o si saben si hay alguna incompatibilidad que provoque estos fallos. ¿podrían ayudarnos por favor?

Every and each time I try to move any message to my local folders, or make any change on it, I get that error message. I can create new folders inside my Local Folders (for instance, a Test folder) and I can still access the messages stored there, but I can not make any further change.

I have tried these things so far:

1 - Check that I have enough space on the partition. 2 - Check the access privileges (I have set them to Total Control to all users). 3 - Compact all mail folders. 4 - Repair all mail folders. 5 - Rename the Local Folders to "Local Folders.old" and create a new one. 6 - Place the local folders in a different drive. 7 - Recreate the profile, either by copying the files manually and by importing them. 8 - Delete all local folders' .msf files (to rebuild indexes) 9 - Uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird from scratch to the last version - 142.0 (64-bit) 10 - Revert the last W10 system update. 11 - Check the antivirus configuration. 12 - Recover an old backup of my Mail folder (done when there was no error). 13 - Delete the entire disk data partition, reformat and recover it. 14 - Run Thunderbird in safe mode. 15 - Run Thunderbird as an administrator (as suggested by Gerardo below)

The error persists and I have run out of ideas.

Could someone help me, please? At my local folders I have years of messages that I still browse, and I use them as a local archive.

Me sale el siguiente error compactando: La carpeta "bandeja de entrada en ..." no se pudo compactar porque falló la escritura en la carpeta. Compruebe que tiene suficiente espacio en disco y privilegios de escritura en el directorio, y vuelva a intentarlo.

- Tengo sitio en el disco y soy administrador del pc - ya probé a reparar la carpeta

Since the latest update to Windows 10 Pro and Thunderbird, this annoying Microsoft window keeps popping up, and I have to put it in the background, otherwise I can't even read my emails.

Thunderbird 128.7.1esr (64-bit) on MBP M4 Max 128GB with updated MAC OS 15.3.1 (24D70) For 3/4 days it is excessively slow, even stopping the rendering of letters when writing an email. When I'm trying to open en eml file from the windows explorer, it takes a very long time to open, aroun 2 min. This behaviour has started today and I'm not sure whether has to do with last beta version recently updated.

I have latest nvidia drivers, using windows 10 x64, i also tried in chrome latest version and i have the same issue in incognito modes for both browser video with the problem
