left mouse button does not work after upgrade of firefox -- other search engines work well

My left mouse button no longer works when I access programs through Firefox web browser. Especially on my gmail or a drop down menu, etc. Other browsers (Google chrome Internet Exp) work just fine. Happened after latest download. Removed update and reinstalled and still does not work.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
