In the new version of the Developer Edition the options "close tabs to the right" and "close other tabs" are in a sub-menu named "Close Multiple Tabs" inside the context menu. Is there's a way to change this so that they will appear directly in the main context menu? I use "close tabs to the right" often and I find this very annoying.

Firefox leaves full-screen mode when window manager remaps window to be in a frame and re-sizable.

In the window-manager that I use (KDE plasma), I can ask the window-manager to exit full-screen mode, without telling the window. This allows me to tell a window to be in full-screen mode, while in a framed window. I have attached a screen-shot of chrome showing a youtube video. Both youtube and the chrome are in full screen mode, however the window manager has re-sized it and added decorations (title-bar&frame), and is allowing me to resize, move, minimize, maximize, etc.

This works for every program that I have used (that has a full-screen mode). However it is not working for Firefox. It seems that Firefox is triggering off of the wrong event.

My guess: the window-manager sets NET_WM_STATE_FULLSCREEN to enter full-screen, and would normally clear this attribute to exit full screen. When we exit full-screen, but stay in full-screen mode, the attribute is not cleared. However Firefox is triggering off of something else such as a re-size event.

Use-case: What I am trying to do

  1. Enter full screen mode: browser hiders tab-bar, and address bar, maybe web-page changes layout (e.g. you-tube resizes video player to fill window)
  2. Tell Window-manager to leave full-screen-mode, but not inform browser (or other app). Browser is now still hiding tab-bar, address-bar, site is till showing video in whole-window, but window can be moved and re-sized.

This works for every other app that I have user. (Some apps don't have full-screen-mode, so this does not apply to them. But it works for all that do have it.)

Since upgrading my iMac to Big Sur, I get an extra Firefox icon in my dock. Now, here's the strange part: it has a small screen on the icon at about 2:00. Even stranger: it connects to the website my wife has on her macbook. It gets stranger: the Firefox icon with the screen appears even if my Firefox app is off. And finally: the icon connects to her Safari app, not her firefox app. That is, when I click on the icon with the screen it shows me her Safari website.

I am at a loss.

Does FF have any role in logging me out of a website due to some time limit? I complained to a site that I lost a lot of typing because it had silently logged me out. I was told by one of their CS people "The issue is actually with your browser. Browsers have a security feature that automatically logs you out of secure areas if you are not moving around, which unfortunately excludes typing. The idea is if you were logged into your online bank account and left your computer, someone else could not sit down 5 minutes later and start doing things in your account. This feature is for any secured area, any area you have to login to access. It is not something we do or can prevent. I am very sorry for the inconvenience."

IMHO this is BS, but please tell me if FF could have terminated my session somehow. Thanks. GD

I cannot find any way to disable, hide, or remove the Recently Bookmarked list from the bookmark section. These make this window unusable other than the bookmarks that are listed there. I have no use for Recently Bookmarked items to be listed anywhere. I have attempted all of "solutions" that pop up about fixing this issue, but none actually work.

There is no "Hide Recently Bookmarked" when you right click anything on that menu or others involving bookmarks. Similarly, there is no setting regarding it when you search in about:config as is claimed most of the time. Adding a bunch of meaningless bookmarks & deleting them, also does not clear the list as it seems to remember all the bookmarks.

I've found people complaining about this as far back as 49, and as recently as 66 and 78.

Hi I get the error above after the pc tries to connect to https://www.iptorrents.eu/t it goes to https://iptorrents.me/t then tries to go to the login page, but it just circles and after several minutes I get the error above. I have used this site for years. Not sure if a recent Windows upgrade has caused this, nut I have checked for malware using Malwarebytes. Re booted and no joy. I have installed Firefov as my default browser. Rebooted. Tried agin and no joy.

Within the last 10 days my wife's computer has been denied access to a number of sites via the Firefox browser and she receives the Insecure Connection message. She uses the work around using the Advanced path button. We are confused why without any changes to her machine this is happening. She is on an iMAC using OS version 10.7.5 and Firefox 48.0.2 and accesses the internet through an internal network, she has Airport installed and is connected to my iMAC which has OS 10.9.5 and Firefox 78.13, and has never had any difficulties accessing sites or with Firefox. We're aware that our OS versions are outdated but all our applications work well and so we see no need to update. We'd appreciate any suggestions and thank you for your help. I'm currently using Firefox 78.15.0esr 64-bit and there's supposed to be an update to 90-something, but I don't want to upgrade because the reason why I downgraded to this version was a major problem I had with the latest Firefox--that problem being that it would go in and out of Full Screen mode by itself regardless of whether I was watching a Youtube video or not, even if I never pressed F11. It would just jump in and out of fullscreen on its own, sometimes just showing a black screen and forcing me to restart the computer entirely because when it holds on the black screen, my monitor would just turn off.

So, is there a way to opt out of this update if the upgraded ESR is just going to do the same thing as regular Firefox?

Hi,

I found some discussion related (https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/disable-add-ons-on-specific-website/33693) but no solution yet.

This is imho a big flaw in the privacy of users.

There are trivial cases, for example if I use a YouTube downloader plugin, I obviously want it to monitor my browsing ONLY when I'm on youtube.com...

And there are some critical cases: when I browse my web banking, or when I go on some trading website, I don't want my financial operations to be at risk because of an add-on that is very useful everywhere but on those site.

However, I don't want to exclude all the add-ons for those website too, that would be just too much.

I think there's already a coding base in place, since you can disable each add-on when using private windows. This could be enhanced by having a system of whitelist/blacklist instead. And this feature would actually make more sense than using a private window.

Another way would be to have this feature on per container, instead of per website, than would work well too.

People have different activities, and some requires useful plugins, that are very specific. I mean Keepass's add-on (for example) is useful everywhere, but many add-ons are related to one activity at a time.

For example, if I'm a marketer and want to analyze website, I'll use add-ons for having stats on metadata or keywords or even real time reports from Alexa or from AliExpress, etc...

But when I'm reading my email, I'm not happy those add-ons can see my data.

That would be tedious to disable all those plugins every time I change activity, especially since we are productive humans so obviously we need to alternate those activities doing multitask all the time.

And the private window option is not flexible enough for that kind of multitasking, when containers are.

I hope this helps everyone understand clearly why I think my request is not only a real user need, but also currently a flaw in users privacy since most people will not trade the comfort of their add-ons for some privacy concern they don't always understand...

I know this is some kind of feature request more than ask for help, but https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ is out of service so I don't know where to address my concern here.

Thanks for helping me pushing this idea forward.
