On FF v78.0.2 (Win 10/64-bit), it used to be that I could open PDF links within a website using FF's built-in PDF Viewer. However, after saving them to disk, when I opened the PDF from the Downloads panel, it would open in my preferred 3rd party app. This was desired and worked perfectly.

But this seems to have changed! I either have to commit to the built-in always, or an external app always, irrespective of whether I am opening from a browser link or the download panel.

This is a terrible behavior. FF should open PDFs in the download handler (like ALL other file types there) with the OS's preferred PDF handler, which, in my case, is not FF's built-in Viewer.

If open a PDF in the built-in Viewer and save it from there, why would I want to re-open it in the built-in PDF viewer when opening from the download panel?

FF's built-in Viewer is great for a quick view of a PDF, I quite like it. But if I take the time to save it, I typically want more advanced functionality, like highlighting, filling in forms, etc. It worked perfectly before, please revert and stop fixing things that aren't broken. Or at least differentiate between the download panel and website links. Is there any hope in submitting a bug report?

The browsing history works fine, with one exception: once you click on an older link to reuse it or even to simply look at it, the older link is removed an replaced by the new one.

This is very disturbing whenever you need the older link's timestamp as a proof you accessed the corresponding page at a given time.

Is there any possibility for the user to avoid this behavior?

In the new version of the Developer Edition the options "close tabs to the right" and "close other tabs" are in a sub-menu named "Close Multiple Tabs" inside the context menu. Is there's a way to change this so that they will appear directly in the main context menu? I use "close tabs to the right" often and I find this very annoying.

Hello Everyone, I now have TWO computers that automatically updated Firefox ESR from 68.12.0 to 78.3.0. I now cannot logon to a Networkwork Solutions webmail account that I have used for years. The message says to change my settings to allow cookies. Thinking that the update may have changed a security cookie setting, I have tried multiple configurations. The standard Firefox settings have worked fine for years until the update. So far I can still access the account with both Opera and Brave, I have not yet tried Chrome. What has changed? Thanks.

I refreshed Firefox, now Lastpass and Ghostery don't show up in my toolbar or work anymore (Mac OS 10.9.5). I removed the Lastpass extension, then reinstalled to no avail. Oddly, Adblock Plus is in my toolbar and works fine. Attached photo shows Adblock, but no Lastpass or Ghostery icons in my toolbar.

If you lower mtu to 400 when using Firefox The problem occurs in the latest version 78.3esr.

The site doesn't open properly You can reconnect countless times over and over again, The page does not open.

This issue did not occur in the 68.12esr version.

There was no problem in the lower version even in the non-esr version. When the version was upgraded, the symptoms appeared. I've been using 68.12esr.

I can not speak English well.

Korea is a country that blocks sites using https. Adjusting mtu is a necessary measure for Koreans.

Over the last few weeks Firefox is not printing statements correctly from my online bank. Other browsers e.g. Safari, Microsoft Edge are working fine. I have Firefox on a MacBookPro (El Capitan) and a PC (Windows 10) and both have exactly the same problem. The image is far too large for the page and much text is lost. Switching to landscape doesn't help. It appears that something has changed in Firefox recently which is causing this. Thanks

Hi,

Recently upgraded from ESR 68.12 to ESR 78.3 I have over 2000 passwords on my Corporate desktop Firefox account and I find I'm unable to access these in anything like a timely fashion. The new Lockwise password manager UI does not appear to be able to display a LIST of passwords based on usernames, date last used, date last changed, urls etc. Is it possible to get a list view instead of the current one, or will I have to downgrade back ESR 68.12 ?

Thanks Bob

If extension gather some private data about my activity, like for example https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/clipboardhelper/ which gather my clipboard history.

"This add-on needs to:

   Get data from the clipboard
   Input data to the clipboard
Store unlimited amount of client-side data
Access your data for all websites"

How to assess the resulting privacy risks?

1. Isn't there insignificant chance these data leak out thru other extensions? For example on Andorid (i am on Windows) i think that i heard that the apps has some common storage and it was/is possible one app read data of other app. Maybe it is not true and likely does not apply on Firefox on Windows.

2. or this extension send my data out to author or such? Btw. is there(why not) setting which would by default disallow extension to send data it gathered away via internet? And user would have to allow it on prompt.

The subject line says it all. Firefox version 80.0.1 (64-bit) running on Ubuntu.

The Preferences / Startup / Restore previous session is ticked. Deleting sessionstore files (as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1185765) doesn't fix this. There are no Restore Previous Session item available anywhere (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1261571)

This appears to have happened only since the latest update. I typically work with 20-30 opened tabs at a time, so this is very annoying, and it it wasn't for the Session History Scrounger for Firefox I'd be totally screwed. (The latest Firefox version also runs cripplingly slow at times, often consuming 100% of CPU according to 'top'.)
