Firefox used to give the option to open a file without saving. Now it saves everything to my downloads folder with no option to just open. (I am aware Firefox used to save the opened files in temp). This causes major clutter in my downloads folder and big disruptions to my work flow. Sometimes I just want to view the file and not save it to my working folder (downloads).

Is there a workaround to save to opened files in temp and the saved files to download?

Does Firefox give 2 different "save to" options? One option for a location to save downloaded files and one option for a location to save opened files?

I have an older Macbook Air that runs on OX Capitan which is not compatible with the latest version of Firefox. I have been a long time user of Firefox and have an account. Please send me a link and instructions on how to download a version that will work on my device. Thank you in advance for your help. Venetia

I've set up Firefox to ask before updating, so I was taken aback by the fact that today, an update was automatically installed without Firefox asking me... (I was updated from 97.x to 98.0)

It is especially frustrating, as the mandatory "Restart" screen is broken when using several profiles, at least under Debian.

Please turn off the download drop down menu that appears every time I do a download...if you cant do that then give your users the option of turning it off or on...

Hi New Dell Inspiron 15-3000, installed Firefox 100 in new laptop, transfered all files via LAN from old laptop All websites work ok except 2 of the 4 banking websites I use. One site will not accept my login the other will open after putting in my login twice Have gone to "troubleshoot mode" and both sites work , go back to "normal" and they do not work Any clues how to fix this, not to technical please I am not a computer whizz and all children have left home Many thanks Ron Managh

My job requires me to download and open files in new tabs consistently. However, when I download these files, I don't want the download panel to obscure my vision. Can I disable it?

I got a new Acer laptop with windows 11 (64bit). I downloaded FF but when I open it, it just gives a blank page. If I type in an address nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling but nothing seems to work

How do I download an excel spreadsheet without having to save it? Is this a "new feature" or a bug. I was able to do it previously but now it makes me save all excel spreadsheets before I can open them.

Please assist Nearly most sites I visit,a DOWNLOAD appears & if I open it,Firefox tells me that it is not associated with any of it files & it is isallmytube protocols If I search for isallmytube,it tells me it is associated with WONDERSHARE 7 I do not have that program on my computer It is very annoying Can you please advise me how I can get rid of it thanks Darryl

I am disappointed with the background change with updates. The last time I updated Firefox, I had to do a system recovery to revert back. Then another person expressed concerns with a new version taking control over updating. Why don't you have updates that give you options to choose the background color and who decides if and when you update? I will not update Firefox under these conditions. And I don't want to spend half a day trying to change my background back to white, and especially if would have to do that with every update. Like I have to change my printing options when I do updates! I have been so happy with Firefox for the last 20 yrs. or so, until all of this. Please make this more user friendly and optional.

Tried to dl for my iMac "El Capitan" version 10.11.6 a dozen times but no go. Any chance of me getting the old version for my antique? I sent a screen shot below. Thanking you in advance, Ed

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been using Firefox for a while now, I'm very happy with thee browser and have recommended all my firends use it instead of Chrome.

However, this morning, after the recent update, I have found I am unable to upload or download anything on any website using Firefox.

I have tested it using Safari and I can download images perfectly fine there. Even using extensions on FF, nothing is happening.

Please get back to me as soon as you get this

I just installed the latest Version of Firefox 101.0 for Windows 10. Then when I tried to download a pdf file from my yahoo mail I received the following message: "Problem loading page" Firefox Can’t Open This Page To protect your security, dl-mail.ymail.com will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window. Learn more… Open Site in New Window Report errors like this to help Mozilla identify and block malicious sites

So, in order to open the page I have to press "Open Site in New Window"

Please advice why happened this issue and how can be fixed.
