hello,

i am wondering, is there a way to automatically have my posted question emailed to me? Meaning, when i post a question here, can i choose that a copy of it be sent to me? (many other sites, such as google and ebay, have this option, and it is very helpful).

thanks!

I am using Firefox 98 in Linux Mint 20 64bit. I notice that "Your browser is being managed by your organization." appeared in settings. I dont know when exactly appears but it is after one of the last updates. Is there a way to fix? I can see topics related to Windows and Avast, but this is in Linux.

When I click on a PDF attachment in my Gmail account it opens in a pop up window and I can read it fine. If I click download it downloads the file but if I click print it also downloads the file. Can I get Firefox to just print from there or must it be downloaded first?

If I click the downloaded file it starts Acrobat Reader and then I can print it but that seems a little long winded.

Thanks...

When I go to log into my Microsoft Account using their Edge browser, I get the proper login window. (see attachment-upper part) When I attempt to log in to my Microsoft Account using Firefox I get the garbage in the lower half of my attachment, and the page DOES NOT work. It always used to work, and I don't remember changing any settings. I want to use Firefox and Bing Rewards, but if it won't let me log into my Microsoft Account I can't access Bing Rewards! I don't want to use Edge, I have always preferred Firefox. What's going on?! Thanks for any help, Dave

I used to be able to download a file and continue browsing. Now, the list of downloaded files pops up from the menu bar and I have to close it every time. This is a real pain in the butt when I'm downloading dozens of files.

Does anyone know how I can turn this off?

Hi all, I need to edit my Gmail mailto link to have a "/u/1" within it, because my default mailbox is not the one I want to be emailing from when I click a mailto link, but the URL within the settings menu is locked for editing. Is there an INI file or some sort of command line edit I can make please? I have another mailto link saved within Firefox that I need to use occassionaly so I can't use any solution that locks me to Gmail. Thanks in advance.

So, there was a download that I did not download as I suspected malware. I did a preview of the file and I probably should not have done that. It was adding Google Hangouts, doing something with my mic, and would be hidden. I don't know if you can see the string in the image.

So, it was probably supposed to go on Chrome, but I opened in FF. So, I was worried it would be hidden in my browser. I did a refresh to get rid of malware, but my extensions came back. So, if there is a hidden extension, or malware, that would come back too. No?

I uninstalled Chrome.

Hello Mozilla Support!

I just installed Firefox 98.0 this morning. I was very surprised to discover that I can no longer view an attachment in Firefox or open an attachment without also downloading it.

If you can, please ask the developers to reinstate the Download Attachment options to "Open with Firefox" and "Open with [select the program]" without automatically downloading every attachment.

Thank you!

-Steve

The latest version is displaying a download dropdown after a download, and I can't figure out how to stop it. In previous versions the answer was to go to Tools Menu > Options > General Tab > Download Section, but that doesn't seem to exist any more.

How do I stop that annoying dropdown from appearing?

When opening .pdf files, I have set 'Always ask' in Preferences > General > Applications so I can choose whether to browse a .pdf in Firefox or download it. However, when I then choose 'Open with Firefox' in the ask prompt, the file is downloaded as well. This does not happen if I choose 'Open with Firefox' as the default behavior in Preferences > General > Applications. Can anyone provide a fix for this?

I just switched to Windows 11 and Firefox have a strange behaviour. Maybe also just firefox updates the behaviour like removing back action when clicking backspace some time ago. When a download of a PDF starts it is configured that it will ask me what to do. So in general I use open with Adobe PDF Viewer. This also works. But the file is anyway in my Download-Folder. I was used that it will be saved in the temp folder %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp and then also deleted after a while. If I want a file saved for a longer time I save it explicitly to a location I want to have it.

Any idea what is wrong in the Windows 11 or Firefox (currently 98.0.1)

Thanks a lot!

FF upgraded today and is unusable. FYI, I am using Brave to communicate with you. There is the usual messing up of the location of the download file and my switchboard of favorite sites (this is probably not the proper term) is destroyed. That is normal. Now, however, I had to go into settings to click off the option for the 'default' sites. All of the icons for extensions are gone from the top of the page. When I try to go to a web page, the software never connects.

This is the first time I have had an issue with FF and this is a doozie! Can you assist?

It used to be that when I downloaded something, the icon would light up and I could click it to open if I wanted to, but now it pops open whenever I download something. This is very annoying as I often don't want to immediately open the folder that I downloaded to. How do I change this back to not opening automatically?
