I've just upgraded and almost done with the userchrome customizations but I need help with some little things.

Is there a way to remove the dotted frame in the history/bookmarks tree as seen in the attached picture.

See abstract. Updated to Firefox V105.0 today, and now the cursor starts in the address bar, instead of the search box middle of the page. I have tried that "about:config handoff" fix and it doesn't work for me. I think this is about the third or fourth time we have lost the "cursor starts off in the search box" functionality in the last few years, after a Firefox update. Can you code writers leave it in the search box? Please?

The uploaded image is not what I expected. There should be an image of my desktop and the text has somewhat background color which supposed to be transparent causing some texts to be cropped. I have Dark Reader extension turned-off since Facebook has it's own dark mode. How to fix this?

I'm on Firefox 104.0.2 Manjaro KDE Plasma 5.25.5.

I haven't changed anything except for Firefox auto-updating to version 104.0.2 this morning but now some sites with dark mode are nearly unreadable (see attached screens 1-2 of Twitch and Giant Bomb, respectively), and others have had their default text size rapidly shrink (see screen 3 of a Wikipedia page), with no warning. What was fine yesterday is no longer working correctly today. I tried disabling and re-enabling different extensions and clearing my whole browser cache and that does not seem to have helped. Is there any explanation or quick fix for these issues on the way or a way I can roll back to 104.0.1 until the problem has been solved?

PS: I'm also using the latest version of Windows 10 and my video card (Radeon RTX 480) drivers and neither have had any updates in the past 24 hours.

Firefox update required me to restart Firefox. I was unable to save a bunch of work I had done in a particular tab because Firefox seems to have refused to connect to the site I was working at until I update. THAT SUCKS!

for the past several days, my youtube thumbnails have been grey boxes. they aren't the standard "no thumbnail :(" grey, instead just a block of grey.

this is not the case for youtube on chrome or on the app. i've tried the following: - restarting firefox (multiple times) - clearing the cache for youtube - reinstalling firefox - restarting my computer - logging out and logging back into my youtube account - using firefox in a private browser

please help.

In my Firefox settings, I have PDF files set to "Open in Firefox".

When I click on a PDF file, Firefox DOES open the PDF in a new browser tab, but the PDF ALSO downloads to my desktop (both!). How can I stop it from downloading?

Every time I try to use the search function I get this message, saying that they can't find the URL. I've already tried checking my connection, my firewall, restarting my computer, using the troubleshoot mode, and uninstalling + reinstalling again. Can somebody please help?

I'm using IPv4 as well as IPv6 addresses in my home network. But Firefox uses always the IPv4 connection when I open a website. When I open the same website in MS Edge, the IPv6 connection is used.

I've captured the network traffic during opening a website in Firefox, which is reachable over IPv4 and IPv6. First I see two DNS queries (A and AAAA) for the domain name. Both responses containing the correct IP address, and they arrive nearly at the same time at the client. Next I can see the TCP handshake. But it's send between the IPv4 address only. No IPv6 connection was attempted.

When I run the IPv6 test at https://test-ipv6.com, the IPv6 resuls are nearly fine. Only the web browser test says "Your browser has real working IPv6 address - but is avoiding using it."

When I run the same test in MS Edge, all tests are fine.

So it seems that this is not a OS or network issue. It affects Firefox only.

What I've already tried:

• Disabled all extensions
• Created a new profile
• Used the IPv6 address of the website instead of the FQDN -> Works fine.
• Checked DNS cache of Firefox (about:networking). It contains the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the requested websites

I guess that Firefox prefers the A record for some reason. But I've no idea why. Has anybody an idea what could causing this?

Hello, I am eyesight impaired. I am having trouble when trying to use the search bar on the home screen. When the search is typed in the home screen it automatically swaps to the ADDRESS BAR SEARCH. The text is so small I cannot see it very well as a result my typos are abundant, very frustrating. Using the home search bar rather than the address bar I can control the size of the text and use it with no problems. At some point this home search bar function changed, I have tried to use the address bar in place of the home search bar but as I said, it is too small to see. It also makes it almost impossible if you want to search a valid link instead of going to the link because the address bar interprets it as a link and just goes to it, also frustrating. I see a lot of talk about this issue but I don't see any final correction. Is there some way someone could put an effort into this issue for us diminished septuagenarian programmers from the days of old? Thanks in advance, Jim

Hi support team,

Yesterday, I suddenly removed all logins and somehow my profile was synced to the cloud.

Fortunately, I still keep all login files (json and key db files), I tried to recovery all my logins, it was successfully.

But, right after that my profile was synced from the cloud to my machine then whole logins were clear.

So how can I overwrite my profile in the cloud so I can totally recovery my old logins?

Kindly help to give my some advice.

Occasionally, when I am watching a video on Youtube or Twitch, the video will glitch and cause the browser to go completely white. On Youtube, there will be a small visual glitch and on Twitch, the video will crash and need to be reloaded, but otherwise nothing else happens.

I can download an E-Trade brokerage statement from my DELL LAPTOP, Windows 10 and Firefox ((identical to my Desktop) whereby I can view the pages of the statement , however, from my DESKTOP I cannot download an E=Trade brokerage statement for me to view the pages of the statement.

I use a laptop with Fedora 36 installed. Firefox is version 104.0.1

Until a few days ago, there were no problems with video display. But since a few days, video content that is offered by the news site from NOS (Dutch television) is not displayed anymore. I only get this error: The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support.

Also some content on Youtube aborts. For example loading https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq0BUiEs3JM results in this error: Er is een fout opgetreden. Probeer het later opnieuw. (Afspeel-ID: Ui0fzPxdSexgYcZ4).' (An error occured, try later again).

When using the Chrome Browser both websites can be used without giving errors implying that all the codecs are available.

How can I detect why video is blocked?

(Twitter also gives problems. After a fraction of a second, it stops displaying video)

The mouse-left click button does not work since last two updates!

The link is OK, floating menu with right click can open it in new tab, but left-click on buttons, divs, links is dead for a while

Something was changed in Firefox in the wrong direction.

The following websites no longer display text and are unusable (the newest one is lowes.com):

https://www.lowes.com no text visible; search works if you just type and press enter, but you cannot see any text; this one just started in the past few days (I used it about a week ago w/no issues)

The websites work fine in Microsoft Edge Chromium.

The images attached are from Lowes.com - "FF" meaning Firefox, "EC" meaning Edge Chromium.

I also tried creating a new profile w/o all the security turned on. No luck - same problem.
