This has just started. I'm not aware that I've changed anything on the PC (Windows 8). The message appears a couple of times on each startup attempt. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried the refresh and Shift click to get into safe mode. There has been no change to the error. I can access other websites and Microsoft Edge is working OK.

I'm out of tricks here. Last night I updated Windows on my desktop (Windows 10) and after several hiccups and restarts the computer is operating correctly...except for Firefox. The browser window opens normally but clicking on any bookmark or typing a web addy manually does nothing...it just stays blank. When using a bookmark, no address propagates to the address bar. In an effort to fix this I have done Firefox refresh (a few times now), run Firefox in troubleshoot mode (a few times and at least once this caused Firefox to crash), uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox (twice, second time WITHOUT saving prior account settings), restarted computer and uninstalled adblocker.

Absolutely NO change from any of this. My laptop (Apple with Firefox) works fine and the desktop WILL browse just fine on MS Edge, so this is not a connectivity problem. Any ideas on fixing this would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I have incurred a browser hijacker that I can't seem to get rid of as no anti virus that I've tried will recognise it. The hijacker is defaultsearch.nchuser. The 'Refresh Firefox button is not working at the moment. Please help me to remove this pest. Thank you.

How can I remove ChunkApp from my browser? It is not showing in my extensions, but i know its there because the internet service I use at a customers site wont allow me to utilize my browser because of the redirect to Chunk App host/server.

Please help I do not want to switch to Google Chrome because of this legal search engine redirect virus.

Firefox pretty much crashed every time I quit. Doesn't matter if I'm looking at a web page or close all windows before quitting.

Restarting in Trouble Shoot mode doesn't help either.

The cause seems to be synchronisation - if I sign out of my account and no longer synchronise, the problem goes away and I can quit without Firefox crashing.

Hello, since quite some time now, I've got a problem with some websites, https://www.20minutes.fr/ among them. With other website, it's all good.

In safe mode, the display is good, but I can't seem to find the responsible for this problem. Here's two picture to show you the problem. It's the same article, one in safe mode, the other one in normal mode

I've tried to run Firefox without any add-on, but, it's the same. My é and è, and à are gone... And it's not on every website, just a few ones.

I've also tried to clean firefox, the problem remains.

Can anyone help me with a master password issue?

The box appears at the appropriate time but I am unable to enter any text into the box. I point and click in the text space but the cursor does not appear and nothing happens when I start typing.

The sign in button is grey although I can click on it and the box briefly disappears then reappears asking for the password again. The cancel button works and closes the box.

I do not have the same problem on my Android mobile and I can access my passwords on my phone but not on my Windows laptop.

A while ago I made a Firefox account with my Yahoo email address as the primary email, and my Outlook email address as the secondary email. Eventually I realized that I didn't need my Yahoo email account anymore, so I deleted it, forgetting that it was being used as the primary email for my Firefox account. Now I can't remove my Outlook email from my Firefox account without verifying my Yahoo email account, and I can't even delete the Firefox account since it was made under the Yahoo email account as a primary email address.

Now I can't use my Outlook email address to create a new Firefox account either.

I have stated this issue once before after trying to find a solution by myself.

Whenever I boot up my laptop, firefox starts running in the background taking up a lot of memory space and cpu utilization. I have been with ffirefox since I started using laptops which is 7-8 years back. I never thought of switching browser or finding an alternative of firefox until for some months the issue is occurring. Now I am really annoyed to open up task manager every time and close firefox which is running in the backgroud. I have seen nothing unusual in the "about:performance" tab of firefox.

Please help me to continue my journey with firefox.

(SECOND occurrence of this problem; not sure HOW previous instance resolved - my short-term memory ISN'T the best at present!)

Have taken all recommended steps short of completely refreshing (renamed a file titled 'config.json.old' as it was the ONLY one with a 'json' filepath suffix) because I don't want to have to relocate (another) existing session / configured profile by trial & error if avoidable - 'cookies' were removed along with history / cache cleared; reset / deleted related browser registry entries as directed, activated ' Troubleshooting / Safe Mode' contingency and STILL can't download anything (additionally, tried to do so with and without limited-time Malwarebytes web protections).....want to CONTINUE using Version 95 because by ALL indications and from what I'm seeing in Comments, my instincts about newer ones - were sound, WELL-informed.....please advise ASAP? Hello there - hoping for a hand to fix this. Several months ago Firefox crashed while it was in use - void of any update process. Upon reopening, the main window would launch and before any tabs could load it would crash again. I attempted to open in troubleshoot mode with the identical result. I gave it a break and used Chrome but in returning to this issue today the same has occurred. This time after the troubleshoot mode crash, I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed fresh (this was an upgrade from v89 to v92). Upon opening post update the browser crashed again. Each time this happens I have received a crash report screen which I accepted and it was reported as successfully submitted. However, when I open the crash report folder only two appear to have been saved - one old from the first occurrence (6/2021) and one from today(8/10/21). Both of these are linked below for review.

This is on an older Windows 7 machine that honestly I know should be updated but this is only used for light gaming and web surfing and I am not interested in an OS upgrade as I disagree with with the business practices of Microsoft - I find their policies are rather intrusive as a consumer.

I hope I've given enough information about the issue here and my system, thanks in advance for any help!

I have had this issue before and uninstalling and reinstalling has fixed it in the past. Today when I opened firefox it prompted me to update , which I did without thinking. Subsequently, it stopped working. I have tried: restarting my PC, running in troubleshooting mode( it wouldn't even open when I tried this), uninstalling and reinstalling using the internet installer, uninstalling and reinstalling using the offline installer ( tried on multiple hard drives, so I don't think hardware failure is the issue), installing an older version of fire fox, and installing the 32 bit version instead of the 64 bit version. The attached images show what displays upon trying to launch firefox. nothing loads, not typing an address into the search bar, not clicking on a bookmark, the only UI element that will display is the 3 horizontal line setting menu.

since a week or so portal I frequently use - www.wp.pl started to work really slow. It crashes all the time, browser becomes inoperative, closes by itself, etc. It obviously happens to all pages, articles, services related to wp.pl. I cannot open a single page from wp.pl domain without issues. Before it was working completely fine, all of this started to occur for no reason. Also, it happens to wp.pl only. All other pages/portals/platforms function normally. I checked on different browsers - IE, Edge, Chrome and it works fine. I also cleared cache/cookies/browser history in Firefox and this didn't help at all. Therefore there must be something wrong with Firefox browser. Could you please investigate?
