When I log on to the National Savings website using Firefox ( though not when I log in with Chrome) I get the pop-up requiring me to accept or edit Cookies at every page on this particular website. It even happens when I select LOG OFF. Hence it occurs maybe six or more times whilst I am browsing the website. I complained to NS&I but they report it is not caused by their system. I therefore assume it it something within Firefox which is the problem. Can someone please advise me how to prevent these pop-ups. My operating system is Windows 10.

TB has been working for years with 2 gmail IMAP accounts and Google calendar. TB has just updated to 91.8 and the gmails and calendar stopped working. I deleted the stored passwords, started TB in troubleshooter mode and re-entered the google passwords.

Google calendar is now working but the 2 gmail accounts still don't work.

I deleted one of the accounts from TB and re created from scratch. Account creation fails with

Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration username or password.

The other gmail account which I haven't deleted comes up with an authorisation error after entering the google password and allowing access.

I have checked that TB cookies are allowed and javascript is enabled.

I have run out of things to try.

What I don't understand is the calendar is working but gmail isn't even though they use the same Google account and password (and Oauth2).

Cant login to Gmail with OAuth2, unsupported browser error

I am using the latest Thunderbird 91.8.0.8126 and latest Firefox 99.0.1.8136. I am having the same issue as reported in these posts: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/q… (read more)

I am using the latest Thunderbird 91.8.0.8126 and latest Firefox 99.0.1.8136. I am having the same issue as reported in these posts:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1343530 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1344530 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1350244.

I have 5 Gmail accounts that I manage for different family members. All accounts in Thunderbird access Gmail via IMAP, and are configured to login with OAuth2.

This week, Google removed Thunderbird access from 2 of the accounts, I do not know why. When I login to the accounts via the web in Firefox, Thunderbird was no longer listed under their 3rd party access. The other 3 accounts are fine.

1 of the accounts does not have 2FA enabled. I was able to re-login with Thunderbird when prompted, and I was presented with a window to grant Thunderbird access, which worked, no problem. So Thunderbird's browser was clearly recognized.

But the other account does have 2FA enabled, and that is where the problem lies. Thunderbird prompts for login, and the username and password are accepted, but when I enter the 2FA verification code, Thunderbird presents a window saying "Your browser is not supported anymore. Please update to a more recent one." (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1677845). There is no option presented to grant access to Thunderbird. Yet, the verification did work, because my primary email receives notification that the account was logged in from a new device.

For the record, the failing 2FA account is managed by Family Link (the other non-2FA account is not). According to https://support.google.com/mail/thread/127545584/, such accounts cannot login to email clients. But that has never been a problem before, and 1 of the other still-working accounts in Thunderbird is also managed by Family Link and works just fine, so that can't be the culprit.

Also, I do have AVG installed with Email Shield enabled, but disabling that makes no difference.

Thunderbird's UserAgent is "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/91.8.0". And yes, cookies are enabled in both Thunderbird and Firefox.

Is there a way to get Thunderbird to use Firefox properly for Gmail login, instead of its own integrated browser?

Hi,

I have my Thunderbird 91.8.0 (64-bit) (Fedora 35) setup to use PGP aliases- This worked well quite some weeks. Since a short time (like one week or so) I do encounter a problem:

First when trying to use an alias, thunderbird told me there was no key for encrytion found. So I checked my settings and the profile directory for the .json file containing the alias rules. It was there as expected. Trying to fix the problem I did copy the file, rename it an change the mail.openpgp.alias_rules_file value to the new name. Now it would find the file again but tell me the corresponding public PGP key is missing.

I checked using the Thunderbird integrated OpenPGP Key Manager and indeed the public key for the alias was missing. So I did try to import this key again after downloading and saving it (from https://keys.openpgp.org/) but this always throws an error which doesn't tell a reason (see picture).

Btw: I also checked the pubring.gpg file with grep and it seems like the desired key is in there (I'm not very experienced in using grep but the output was somethig like "found occurence in binary file" for: grep XXXX (name of the owner of the key) ~/.thunderbird/NNNNxrez.default-release/pubring.gpg)

Does anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? Maybe there is just a format problem when trying to import from https://keys.openpgp.org/ https://keys.openpgp.org/] ? Cause I did test it with another key from there with the same result...

Would appreciate any help or tip what to try!

Cheers!

I'm running Firefox 99.0.1 on Ubuntu 22.04. Recently (I think since I updated to Ubuntu 22.04 about a week ago), Firefox has been refusing to show me file upload dialogs. When I click a button that's supposed to give me one, nothing happens.

This has been happening with: - The "attach files" button in Gmail - A file upload button on Gradescope (website for managing homework assignments) - File -> Open File... and Ctrl+O.

Dragging and dropping a file onto an email in Gmail does attach the file -- it's just that the button doesn't work.

I've tried restarting, and I've tried running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode -- so far nothing has fixed the problem. What else should I do?

Grammarly.com is not letting me log in because the continue bar keeps loading. It won't let me enter my email and press enter, nor is autofill working. I've contacted them, but the solutions they're telling me to do have had no success. I've already disabled other extensions to see if that was the problem, but it wasn't. I cleared cache and cookies, and I've also removed the autofill option as well. My firefox is up to date.

Hello,

The pop-up blocker exceptions are not working for some sites which I, of course, use a lot. The sites are listed in the exceptions, but Firefox stubbornly continues to block them. I sincerly consider walking away from Firefox (notwithstanding I love it and being a long term user), because it happens with sites I frequently use on a daily base.

I've looked around but none of the solutions work for me as those articles are rather old.

My version of Firefox: 99.0.1 (64bit) running under Windows 10 Pro

Hoping to find a solution here.

Hello

I do not understand how firefox sync is supposed to work. I have a desktop and a laptop. The desktop is FF 85 on Linux Mint (I cannot get a later version due to some querk) The laptop is 99 on Windows 10 Both are signed in to sync but my bookmarks were scrambled so I signed out the laptop and cleared the profile, cleaned up the bookmarks in the desktop and to be safe I tried just syncing the tabs, not the bookmarks, by opening the fresh firefox on the laptop and signing in again. In the sidebar under my account icon I clicked "Synchronise now" and the open tabs from my desktop appeared in a list underneath, jumbled up. (I have 2 separate windows open on the desktop with different tabs in each, but this separation was not followed either, there didn’t seem to be any provision for syncing tabs in two separate windows)

But the row of tabs didn’t open, all I can do is open them one by one from the list on the right, this is a slow process as every time I click on a tab in the list the new page opens in the same single tab, not a new one, but the sidebar closes again.

Is this what’s supposed to happen? I was expecting the synced row of tabs to open automatically.

This feature would have been useful as my OS on the desktop, (Linux Mint) tends to crash and to have the on the laptop would be a good backup.

Incidentally the other way I try to back up the lost tabs is to select them all and bookmark them to a new folder which I call “backup” but it seems this doesn’t necessarily duplicate them, which I would prefer, so any of the open tabs that were previously bookmarked risk being removed from the original bookmarked folder, without my noticing, and I am therefore reluctant to delete the backup folder without checking that it doesn’t contain the only bookmark of a page.

When I came back to syncing the bookmarks, how do I avoid them getting scrambled again?

Hello, I have a GMail account, from which I download my email in Thunderbird (in Linux), and keep it ordered locally.

I noticed that my backups are very slow, because Thunderbird keeps two big directories that get updated often:

11G /username/.thunderbird/k0aa999s.default/ImapMail 7.0G /username/.thunderbird/k0aa999s.default/Mail

under /username/.thunderbird/k0aa999s.default/Mail I see I have my local folder structure and that's good, but what is under ImapMail ? I guess it is the corresponding email structure I have on the gmail server, (although gmail reports that I'm using 5.67GB, not 11GB). The 11GB are created by just 4 files: 1.6G Apr 22 09:55 Sent Mail 3.0G Apr 22 14:16 Trash 2.6G Apr 22 14:16 Important 4.3G Apr 22 14:20 All Mail

I saw it suggested to rebuild the folders in Thunderbird - I did it but nothing changed

What can I do? I dont need / want to replicate Gmail structure locally, I just want (and use) only what I have under /username/.thunderbird/k0aa999s.default/Mail

Finally! I successfully migrated from Eudora 7, but I had to use TB 17.  Where do I go from here?

I'm running a Mac (10.12.6) with different flavors of Windows in different Parallels VM's, and in order to keep my Eudora install safe I did the conversion on a Win 10 32-bit VM on my creaky old MacBookPro which is disconnected from my network.

So now I want to get a current version of TB running with my newly minted TB data on my primary desktop computer. Typically I am concurrently running the following Parallels VM's: Win 7 32-bit, Win 10 32-bit and Win 10 64-bit.

Makes no difference to me which VM I start with, I just don't know how to get from TB17 on my laptop to TB95(?) on one of my desktop VM's.

When first opening the MozillaVPN app (in Linux) it gave me to option to consent or decline to data collection of technical information. I consented but would like to decline/turn it off. I know how to do this for the Firefox browser, through the settings and privacy tab; however, I'm having trouble finding a way to turn off / opt-out for MozillaVPN.
