I am trying to add custom search engines to Firefox. I have tried the steps given in the forum thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1212596.

However when I try to go and add the search engine as per the article given above I do not get the option. Please see the attached screen shot for more details. I do not want to add an extension or a plugin, but just manually have the option of adding search engines.

I've read the "fixes" from 2023 and they do not work for me. I tried changing the DESCRIPTION to blank, didn't work. Changed them to the corresponding e-mail for the account. Didn't work. Changed it to "SMTP" with the corresponding e-mail. Didn't work.

It keeps changing the last one I edit to the one I edited before it. It's driving me crazy. Won't send mail unless the User Name is correct (obv.)

Whole mess started when forced to switch from Cox to Yahoo recently. Seems to be working other than TB changing the name as soon as I type in the next one in the next email address and then it not working until I change the User Name back to the proper e-mail address of the 6 accounts.

Hey guys apparently I have opened a web site that instantly installed adware on my Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra 5G phone. I have installed AVG virus protection. I also have installed adblock app, and a Malware block app. Nothing works. I've tried the web fixes for Chrome. And Samsung Internet. Still nothing works. Anyone know how to fix this without resetting the phone back to factory.

I have three different computers that I can use Thunderbird to access my hotmail account. All three computers can have the exact same server settings. One computer refuses to send emails unless I cancel the send and immediately resend.. Thunderbird ver 115.10.1 (64-bit) Windows 10 Home Ver 22H2 IMAP Mail Server outlook.office365.com Port 993 Connection Security SSL/TLS Authentication 0Auth2 Outgoing SMTP Server smtp.office365.com Port 587 Connection Security STARTTLS 0Auth2 Take Note All three machines can have identical settings listed above or various changes like Normal Password instead of 0Auth2 and/or an Outgoing server can be smtp-mail.outlook.com with normal password or 0Auth2... One computer must be cancelled will sending and when resent, it goes... no problem...immediately. If I don't cancel and wait, for it to send on the 1st attempt, it will eventually timeout on the outgoing server. Then I might have to reenter a password. Very annoying. I have been doing this for years. It is my workaround....

when i open the message Todd sent i get this and i do not know why see attachment how do i stop this from happening I do not understand what is going on with my thunderbord

I am unable to copy text and paste from body of email in Thunderbird. I was able to in past versions. When I right click after highlighting text all options appear but does NOT allow to copy anything.

I had been using Firefox on my iPhone for forever. All of a sudden the icon just disappeared, so I can no longer use it as my browser. When I check my apps in Settings, it's there, and checked as my browser, but there's no longer an icon to click on. I went to the app store thinking it had somehow become deleted, and instead of being able to get the app, it just says Open, meaning that it should be on my phone. How do I get the icon back? The way it is now, I can't even delete and re-install it.

Ok-So this popup window popped up when I returned to Firefox. I don't think it's legit and I am wondering how I go about blocking it permanently. I searched the settings but didn't see where I could post the URL so that is why I am posting this here.

I copied the URL but I don't want to post it here in case it could do something to someone else's system. But here is the screenshot. Please advise me what I need to do. Thank you! TGIF!

I am on a Mac running Sonoma.

I keep hitting sites where menus and selection boxes turn into unreadable Wing Dings? On W11 and cleared and rest the font cache in Windows and still repeatedly seeing the issue?

I have just set up a new Linux Mint desktop and configured TB for my btinternet email account.

Looking at the address book, all the contacts that have appeared in it, contain "TimeStamp+a series of numbers" before the @ sign of every address.

In the btinternet account contacts, the addresses are as you would expect them to be, without the extra timestamp+number.

Is there a way of getting rid of that, or do I have to edit every address?

Need help figuring out why Firefox has a memory leak after an extended use of Firefox browsing. Don't know if its the result of an extension having this issue, or if its a Firefox bug. not sure if this is where i should be but i tried the Thunderbird help and got no answer. After the most recent Thunderbird up date and a Thunderbird install over existing one when i go to my drafts folder and click on any draft or save message in there i get a yellow bar at the bottom of the page that i have never seen before . Now i do not want recreate a new profile and lose all my contacts book marks add on etc. how do i remove that yellow bar in Thunderbird mail

When I view my bank statement in Firefox, everything appears fine, but when I print the statement, all occurrences of boldfce "S" on the printout are blank. This problem does not occur with Google. Running macOS Catalina, all maintenance applied, Firefox is at 125.0.3.

Firefox takes about 5 minutes to load every it launches, before working smoothly like it should. This problem occured first time yesterday morning, and I have no idea what could have caused it.

It happens :

• when I launch firefox normally (whatever the profile)
• when I launch it from the terminal (it provides no output at all)
• when I tell it to launch the Profile Manager (5 minutes to see the Profile Manager appear, then 5 more minutes to launch firefox using the selected profile)

It does not happen :

• when I click "New Window" inside an existing firefox process
• when I call `firefox --help` from the terminal

Here's what I've tried :

• First, I've seen pretty much every article from Mozilla Support, Reddit or SuperUser (writing this question is kind of my last resort)
• I've tried removing and then reinstalling Firefox from Flatpak, from the Fedora repos (using `sudo dnf install firefox`) and using the manual install via the archive (v125)
• I've tried downgrading firefox (when using the package manager install) from v125 to v124
• I've also tried the Firefox Developer Edition, same problem here
• I've tried using the "Refresh Firefox" feature and restarting in Troubleshoot Mode (both are also affected by the slow startup, which makes them particularly painful to execute)
• I've tried manually deleting the `~/.mozilla/` folder (= manually deleting my profiles)

When firefox launches, it does not freezes my OS and does not seem to use many system ressources : CPU usage is normal, RAM as well, and it does not seem to read many things from the disk as well (I've seen some threads where this was the issue).

And here is something interesting that I discovered :

• loading (including refreshing) `about:profiles` is also slow and this time freezes firefox (OS reports it as not responding, I can't switch tabs and I can't see my mouse). Other about pages seem to work fine (although I did not try them all)

PS : Even if I think it has nothing to do with the issue, I prefer to mention it here : I was messing with virtual machines yesterday when the issue occured for the first time. My disk got full at some point and I don't know but it might have messed with firefox. At this stage, I had not deleted any files that could relate somehow to Firefox, that's why I doubt it would have caused anything harmful to Firefox. (instead, I mounted an empty partition from my disk to get some space)

Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (I assume it's one of the options I have thru Firefox to block cookies), and I can't find where to allow cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences etc) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to (try, I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I downloaded the new update this morning and I cannot separate my categories any longer on my home page. I keep them in categories on the 4 separate rows and then separate them by skipping a square. I cannot do that any longer and do not like the jumble of the homepage now. How can I keep the blank spaces that are located at the bottom of the rows to separate my categories?

Since upgrading to the last version, 125.0.3 I'm getting tab crashes. Is there any way to go to a previous version? I have not had any issues with the websites I'm visiting until this new version of Firefox.

Urgent Help Please as lost ALL EMAILS - I cannot get to post in Thunderbird: 1) I've now spent 4 hours, (from what was trying to sort a 'simple' problem on the server), as I couldn't send or receive any emails, as they think I've 6.5Gb of data on it, in spite of my deleting all my emails off it. So they allowed some extra space to temp sort it again. It's been an issue for about 3mths now. But I deleted everything just the other day having confirmed that was not deleting them off my laptop and that the previously lost emails 2 yrs ago weren't still on their server.

But now checked back on my email client Thunderbird, and I've no emails. They're all GONE bar the odd few I've put into folders (I stopped using folders years back as that lost all my emails way back then!), so I'd been keeping them all in the Inbox. Although I've a few old Inbox files with previous old old emails in so I can access them if I need to. But at least their there! But now again I've just lost everything. This is such a disaster.

Over the last 2yrs it's been going OK until today. Now it's LOST ALL MY EMAILS. I'm as per usual up to my eyes and have to travel this friday for meetings next week. The last thing I needed today was this. I've lost so much data and info in those emails it's doesn't bare thinking about. From show tickets that I need, medical info and data, to flight details to all sorts of crucial data. My ONLY saving grace is that anything I've replied to, I have a copy in the sent folder.

So Please Forgive this being in Firefox, as I can't even add it to Thunderbird help area!! I've had to reset my pw too just to sign in. Sadly right now it all feels so very upsetting I'm thinking I'll have to just have to start using another email client! If every 2 yrs I lose all my emails then this is just not acceptable. I hope you can move this to the Thunderbird threads. If you do please send me a link to it so I can try and find it.

What's so upsetting is had I saved the Inbox file when I saw the 13Gb file size, a bit eariler then, I think I could have saved them. I fear though that the remote server people deleted something, that was somehow still linked to my system and that's meant they've deleted my emails off my laptop too! Terrifying! (Perhaps that is what happened before back in '22. ???) I did look at a 'Sync' settings but not sure what they did so cancelled back out of them.

Running on Win 10 Pro 64Bit i7core 8Gb Ram Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit)

Sub issue to get help : 2) Error to Sumbit to Thunderbird: Sadly I've gone around and around your system saying Ask Question when nothing answers my query on the Thunderbird email questions. But when you click on Ask Question it just takes you back around the system again / Browse all Programs / re click on thunderbird/ reclick on Emails and back to list of FAQ's but nothing helps so click on Get Help and back around you go in a deja vu system.

Hi All,

I would like the content area of my tabs moved up so that the box is filled with the actual tab color, without the white background, and also the text will be vertically centered. Right now, the text is dropping too close to the bottom of the tab.

Had this looking very nice in FF 88 with the same code, as you can see in the attached images, but it seems to render differently in FF 115 ESR and FF 125.

Below is some code I used to style the tabs, but the problem exists without this code as well.

I've also included some "tabs on bottom" code I'm using as well at the very bottom.

Would sure like to get those Classic Toolbar Buttons working again too (shown in the second image), but that will be a later request :)

Any help is appreciated.
