I can't set up Thunderbird to link to my gmail pop account.
I downloaded Thunderbird to assist me in saving materials from my university email, which will cease to exist in the coming months. I'm having difficulty, however, in linking my university email to Thunderbird. I suspect the issue is it is a pop account serviced by gmail rather than a regular, run-of-the-mill gmail account. Please help me! Thanks.

Just select POP at the protocol instead of IMAP when adding the account.
If it still will not set up, get the server settings that need to be used and add the account manually.
