It appeared Thunderbird crashed as when I opened it up it asked me to establish an account. Then when I did that was all I had, no email folders, no trash, none of my other email accounts. When I followed the procedures about where the profile was and that everything was there turned out that it was for my now new profile. Where is my previous one? Why is it so complicated. Why is the explanation about profiles so difficult to understand. It takes you where these hidden folders are but it tells you nothing about what to do about it!!

Following the procedures gives me the new profile that I was required to use when opening Thunderbird. I need to get my OLD PROFILE back and then instructions on what to do with it when I find it!

Did you read the article? Click on the links it contain for thing like http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder_-_Thunderbird

You have a complete set of instructions to locate a profile, move it and use the profile manager to make it the one your using.

So where did you go so wrong that you ended up with a new empty profile?
